You would basically have to be an idiot to mess with Tie Domi. Sheesh.

You guys remember the KC coach that was attacked by a father and son team at Comisky? The NBA needs to do what the NFL does. You throw **** on to the field/court you will be prosecuted. Remember the Eagles coach that was hit with a snow ball at the Meadowlands? The dude that threw the snow ball faced charges for it.

In case anyone missed the entirety of the incident or ESPN's break down play-by-play, you can view it here:

Warning audio is a little choppy.

FYI. Lou Holtz's final game at SCarolina was marred by a brawl as well. ESPN's been running that Philly Hockey incident as well as the Artest meltdown every hour.

I think Artest found his way to get some time off to promote his stupid rap album. He might be doing it without pay for the remainder of the season, but he has plenty of time now. Somehow, his album won't likely sell well in Detroit.

Remember Latrell Sprewell was suspended some 68 games and lost over $6mill in salary when he decided to choke his coach. Evidently Sprewell wasn't worried about feeding his family on his meager salary back then.

I suspect Artest and O'Neal will be charged with aggravated assault. I believe self defense only works if you respond with similar force to a threat. If someone tosses a drink on you, that doesn't give you the right to dive into the stands and smash their head into a seat and try to kill them with your fists. Artest needs to apologize and stop skipping his anger managment classes....

I'm sorry but next to philly fans, detroit fans are the most boorish, loudmouthed, uncivilized fans I have ever seen. (except for Wings fans, they are usually good)

Not only did they start the fight, but it seems like every fan who had a beer, popcorn, drink etc. etc., threw it at the Pistons players.

I think that the NBA should deal with this how soccer would.

End the Pistons home games for the season.

They can play in an empty stadiums, but that's it.

And next year. No alcohol should be served.

Hey, we've come a long way since the days of throwing snowballs at santa and D-cell batteries at the cowboys

But honestly I havent seen one fight involving the eagles in years and we never mistreat visiting fans or teams.

Hah! Yeah, right. Well, there are a couple of reasons that there have been fewer ugly Eagle incidents recently.

1. They're winning. 3 straight years of winning football. Iggle fans get downright ugly when they're teams aren't winning.

2. A much stronger police presence. There are even undercover cops roaming the Linc in opposing team colors to arrest the beered up 700 level idiots before there's an assualt. I believe they have had arrests areadythis season.

Remember, the Eagles have the distinction of being the only team ever to have a courtroom inside the frigging stadium, to handle all the hooliganarrests (the Vet). That's not a ringing endorsement for Philly fans.

Nice attempt though.

Its simply not fair to lump all philly fans together, I have not known one person to get thrown out of or arrested at a eagles game. Im sure people do, but you have drunken bastards at every pro-sports event, nothing special.

At least we dont have riots when we lose (cough cough oakland raiders....). Infact, I'd like to point out the one game the 76ers won against the lakers in the 2001 playoffs in philly, thousands of people in the street celebrating, no problems at all.

Philly fans get pretty loud and crazy but we're definitely civil.

Anyway, Eagles gonna kick the crap outta Redskins. 9-1 after tonight. Wee.

Wow, after watching the video, the behavior of the fans was absolutely inexcusable. They should have let the Pacers back out of the locker room to do some cleaning up! In that situation, I would have done the same thing Artest did, but it would have taken a lot more people to hold me back.

I was mostly speaking of philly hockey fans. But yeah eagles fans are pretty bad too.

The punishment has come down for all the players in question.

I think a season ban on artest is too high

David Stern is a hump - its all about the money. The NBA (more like Stern unilateraly) decided to protect its fans before its players. Why should the players play under circumstances like that. I hope theres some show of solidarity from the other players, b/c this is absurd. They need to suspend play in Detroit, not suspend the players.

Yeah I do like baseball, but I'm not following. Are liking baseball and liking other sports mutually exclusive?

I used to like to watch hockey when the NHL existed - in fact I played hockey for years. But, I was kidding too. The lock out situation in the NHL is unfortunate, the market share and viewership had been growing for the past 5-10 years, and if they do ever come back, they are certainly going to lose a large part of what had been a growing base.

Pacers 134 games suspendedPistons 9 games

Yeah, its all about showing favoritism for bigger market teams. Had this riot happened in Indianapolis (not that we act like this here) the suspensions would not have been so lop sided. I guess my family will stop going to NBA games and start heading up to Chicago to watch MLB games.

Why the hell was Reggie Miller suspended one game? Retarded

ESPN interviewed the President of the Palace in Auburn Hills. He made excuses for Ben Wallace being suspended. What a bunch of idoits.

The players association will appeal the suspensions. I think if anything Artest should AT LEAST be able to return in the playoffs should the Pacers make it (and they still can). I just feel for Reggie Miller. This will probably be his last season and he's been waiting 18 seasons for a championship. They had/have a better chance this year than ever. What a way to go out.I don't care what anybody says, the Pacers can't win a championship without an Artest-like player (skill not the temper). However, if the appeal doesn't allow Artest to play in the playoffs, then I'd bet you've seen him in a Pacers' uni for the last time.

The SADDER part of this, is the fans that got jacked up are already being courted by attorneys and will likely get paid handsomely for being hit, grazed, or even "emotionally wounded" by viewing the incident.

There should be a disclaimer on the tickets to ANY sporting event that precludes suing the leasgue, players, or teams for anything that happens during a game. THEN, any fan who throws something or hits a player (taunting is exempt) MUST be arrested and charged.

Fans who got beat down deserved it. Who in their right mind would jack with an NBA player (big, strong, in top physical condition) and expect to survive?

That being said, no sympathy for the players who lost their cool. If they wanted to fight, shoulda learned to box (or play hockey).

Artest - Season suspensionJackson - 30 Game suspensionO'Neal - 25 Game suspensionWallace - 6 Games

Those fans need to be charged as well. I don't give a crap if the players are supposed to be professional athletes and act accordingly... if someone chucks a cold beer at me, I'm not going to sit there and take it. Granted, Artest made the situation a lot worse, he's only human. And if you're a basketball fan, you should know better than to mess with Artest. Anyway, I think the suspensions are a little harsh but not unfair and I think that the fans definitely need to be reprimanded.
