5.6 Litre Titan engine in 240sx......got to thinking about this one the other day....people do sr,ca,rb.....a few do v8s. how much cost do you think would be involved in a project of this magnitude?also, think a supercharger would fit?as for the question you have, yes, i am evil.

not to rain on your parade, but do you think it would physically fit in the engine bay? if so, wiring would be the job from hell. if anything, there is no way it could fit under the stock hood, so a huge cowl hood would compliment your dream to have a muscle car...

muscle cars were never my thing, too many mullets and odd tooth combos for me...so u do think the deck height of the block is too radical to fit into the engine bay? and yes, wiring would probably kill anyone.

Well, Someone fit that one Toyota V8 in an S13, I imagine that the Titan V8 might also fit.

I dunno if this would be the "craziest engine swap ever" though.

I'd say that a VRH35L would probably be the craziest swap if we're sticking to Nissan engines.

im talking a budget of about 10k for the motor, not 40, lol. if money was no object there would be a Ferrari 430 F1 motor/trans in there, lol. or maybe one of those 3 rotor wankels. those things sound siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.

lol.

If you can get VRH35L's for $40k, I want in. They're probably worth three times that, or more, on the open market. I think it'd probably put an F430 engine to shame, it'd definitely spank a 3-rotor. Has anyone figured out what car this engine is from yet?

The 3 rotor? I believe it came in the Mazda Cosmos. 3 rotor twin sequential turbos.

well, from what i know about em is that there were only 2 of them made.....and 40k would be a GROSS underestimation...more like 140k+ for one thats blown up and missing the turbos, etc. the car is the GT1 car that nissan made, the R90, if im not mistaken, but if i am wrong, let me know!

well if someone wants to donate any rediculous size engine, ill take it. viper motor=big footprint. not sure i wanna extend the nose. just looking for something gnarly and different. fast as crap the main requirement tho.

im lookin for revs, nasty sounding, v8, large open-pipe revs, somethin that sounds like it came from the depths of he1l itself. im talkin about frame twisting torque with something thats not been done before and would definitely bring some recognition to the area.

^ Yeah, baby. That's what I'm talkin' about.

BTW, the 5.6 Titan with supercharger in a 240 is currently being done. Too late.

Well, there are more than two of them. There were a number of race cars produced, and also a run of street cars (I imagine at least 100, to meet homologation specs for Le Mans).

What car you ask?

None other than the Ultimate Nissan, the R390:

The toyota 1uzfe you guys keep mentioning is light and small as far as dohc v8 goes. So it's obviously gonna fit better than the titan engine.

BMW S54 from the E46 M3. 3.2 Inline 6, 340ish hp, 8,000ish redline, NA.

Here's the hard part. They have to be mounted at an angle for the oil pump to pick up. BMW's sensor for the speedometer reads out of the differential (supposedly).

BMW has put out a relativly large number of V8s in the last few years thanks in part to the X5. So there's another option.

How about two RB motors(your choice) mated at the crank?

Or you could always built like a 5-rotor rotary. The housings just bolt together, in theory you can put as many rotor sections in as you like, but you have to have the concentric shaft custom-made, along with other stuff, but at least you won't need a custom block or anything like that.

Taking apart rotaries is fun, I suggest everyone do it at least once, they're very interesting pieces of engineering.
