Yup its true I had a thread on here about how i crashed my car well I took pictures And i Will post them in a minute. The crash was 2 months ago. Long story short control arm snapped. Well I had a 94 dodge dakota 2wd that the rear end blew up in. So i fixed the rearend I've been driving that around for a while until a few weeks ago when i lost my license. I started looking on craigslist for a car to trade it for. I found one. Yes I know not a 240 but it was a killer deal. 1995 eagle talon tsi awd 5spd. :D 180k on the body and 4k on the rebuilt motor. It was a south carolina car so theres not alot of rust. I got it by trading my 94 dodge dakota ext cab 2wd 5spd with a punched out window no 5th gear (but gearing was changed in the rear) and no drivers side mirror. Heres the kicker. The talon came with a rockford fosgate punch 200 amp. A Alpine type e 12" sub in a ported box. And a alpine headunit. Lowered 2" all around with coilovers Turbo xs blow off valve, k&n filter a t28 or t25 turbo (or somthing of that sort sorry if im wrong im new to turboing) exedy stage 3 clutch lightened fly wheel the interior is amazing. Wish i had picks. But enough of that im gonna post some pics of the 240 wafter i crashed its not real bad but bad enough i dont know how long until i fix it and i might just sell it. :/

yeah cars from SC rock, theres hardly ever rust and if there is there isnt much. Dsm's are good cars if maintained properly, the best advise i ever got when it comes to DSM's is that a $3000 car will need $3000 in maintance and repairs. Second gen DSM crankshafts like to fall out so if it happens dont freak out and think you got screwed cause its a pretty well known problem with them. post some pics up soon man, would love to see the new ride. my friends dad has a 99 Eclipe GS-T Syper that ive been trying to get him to sell me for years.

Not really a downgrade. He traded a banged up truck for it. At worst its a DD and his 240 if he keeps it can become a weekend/track car.

OP: I was never really a fan of that body style (never a fan of any DSM body style) but its definitely a quick car. Have fun with it

Man, I went through 2 DSM's... a 95 GS-T and 97 TSI. They werent completely horrible cars... just unreliable for the most part. DSM issues were no joke, wiring.. mechanical failure, you name the problem... i had it lol. Being 17 with my first dsm though... taught me a lot.

Only way to go was to drop in a 1G 6 bolt 4g63t. Upgrade to a big 16G, fmic and piping... call it a day. As for handling and drive ability? Forget it, unless you spent as much as the car was worth on suspension... might as well track a mini van lol. Ok, a bit exaggerated but hated the driver feel. Has nothing to do with the fact that i drive an STi now too lol.

But on a serious note, the s chassis poops on 2G eclipse/talon... just my 2 cents from owning them.

TSI talon before i sold itmy stiMy toys... s13 coupe (in the middle of an rb20/silvia conversion) and subylast one.. promise

I loved dam until I owned one. Every problem in the world happened to my 97 eclipse gst. Replaced all seals still found a way to leak. My electrical took a dump and my lights wouldnot work. It culimnated in my crank snapping and blowing a chunck out the front of my block on the i5. I hope your experience is better. Looks clean though.

dsm's are problamatic in every way from the factory and unless you tweak them in your own way to function properly, it will be a downgrade versus the problems a 240 will give you...but since you didnt get rid of the 240 then it's not soo bad after all.
