I never said that.

You're saying things like
TTkickedin wrote:I see no reason why it shouldn't be legal here. it can be emissions compliant with enough work.
TTkickedin wrote:So with this information, it shows no modification is needed to make an r34 road legal in terms of safety.

I showed you why you are wrong.
TTkickedin wrote:If they can make a vg30dett emissions legal, (bunch of extra systems involved) I'm sure they could've made the rb26 legal.
You said it yourself. Could have. But they DIDN'T. That is what matters.
TTkickedin wrote:Either way you look at it, Nissan is an automotive manufacturer; If they wanted to bring the skyline to the states, they had, from the r32 gt on, a rb26 that they could've experimented with emissions on.
They also have to look at market trends and profitability. The market data they had said cars like the Skyline sell like crap int he US. And at the time these cars were made, it was true.

You obviously haven't done a lot of research into this. The information you "are trying to get out there" is unproven, or just false. If you spent the time you spent arguing with me researching the importation laws and the history of the Skyline in the US, you would understand why things are the way that they are. Instead, you are sitting here spouting "Why not!" and throwing around your casual knowledge gained form hear-say, and 5 minute google search with no thought for the credibility of your information. Then, you act victimized when I say your are wrong.

I was just harmlessly discussing this issue and providing the information as I found it. And it actually wasn't a 5 minute search, do not insult me. Cool that you disagree with what I found. Big deal, you proved you're informed on the subject. A simple pm to me saying I'm. Wrong could've made that message less hostile and less direct towards me only.

Despite me saying "I don't think it shouldn't be lillegal" never once did I say I will do any, so stop assuming. I posted my words, stick to those.

As for the incorrect quote author, bfd dude. I didn't hand write the bb code for that one quote, copy pasted it.

Mods can lock this if ehs accurate, god forbid I think out loud ever again.

I'd rather not go back and forth about this publicly, I'm not into the whole flaming thing, if that's what you're after you won't get it from me. But if you would like we can talk about it some more through pm. I'd rather be informed than have my self research be accused of being done only in 5 minutes. You can tell me where you have your sources of information too? I'd like to read it when I have the chance.

Talk to the mods to have the thread deleted if you feel so strongly about the information I found. That said, no more response by me is necessary

The 1999 Skyline GT-R (R34) is eligible for importation for show or display. The registered importer can petition any vehicle that is non-conforming for importation, but the registered importer must bring it to conformity to FMVSS. The registered importer must post a DOT Conformance Bond equal to 150% of the original duties.

This is only possible if the government has deemed the vehicle capable of being modified to meet FMVSS. If it is not determined, the registered importer must petition for eligibility. This process can be lengthy, complex, and costly if it isn't similar to vehicles already imported.

Why not? Don't forget the GT-R before the R35 was a high performance model of the R chassis from 89-2002. The rest were sporty 4 door sedans and coupes like they've always been except now with Nissans new workhorse VQ instead of the legendary RB. Why limit the flagship performance model with a chassis from a 4 door car? So they made it completely different and forwent the Skyline name.

And I didn't know my narrower 13 is safer than a 14 in a frontal impact.

I'm pretty sure the standards changed for crash testing between those years.

The s13 crumbles in the front easier than the s14. That sounds bad, but it kind of acts as more cushion for the impact, leaving the driver a little less imbedded in the steering wheel.

I guess I can let the G35 slide... I do really like 'em. The thing is, they still make the G, and now they also make a GT-R, and they're so obviously different cars. Oh well.

And the G37 Chassis is still the Skyline in Japan.

How do I feel about the Skyline Crossover? I'll let EPMD explain it.
