I haven't done one on the CA but I did on on a KA24E, I tihnk it was a 22mm socket and we just got a bar with a nice big pipe on it, put the car in gear and cracked the sucker loose!

The hardest part was finding a 22mm socket anywhere on a sunday

Whats funny was that I knew about all the problems that people had with getting these off so I had one ordered and waiting at Nissan for me. I thought I'd give it a try to see if it would come off before I started cutting on it. I Sprayed some PB Blaster (THE BEST rust penetrant in the world IMO) and let it sit for a day. I came back to it the next day, and not only did the Key come out with a pair of needle nose and practically NO force, the sproket basically came off by hand after I worked it back and for a bit. I can't say for sure, but I really think it was the PB Blaster that saved mine. I think that stupid sproket is actually still at Nissan with my other stuff I've had there.....

Well -next- time I'll try that. Right now I've got a hole through one side of the sprocket and another halfway deep across from it. As long as it comes off...

Well it was sitting on a street in north Jersey when we had flooding back in August. Went underwater to about the roofline, lifted off the ground and floated down the street a bit. Ended up parked in front of another house.

Or so I'm told; I bought it from someone else to use as a "learn how to weld body panels" project.

Wow, that's a great idea! I can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks!

If you still have the flywheel attached, put a bolt into one of the bolt holes for the gearbox, and get someone to hold a pry-bar or strong screw driver on it and jam it onto the teeth. this should wedge it so you can undo the crank pulley bolt.

If you have a rattle gun, it will be a 5 second job

`unintentionally amphibious`, guess that`s better than unitentionally airborne

Although, unintentionally cratered would be even worse. The flight might be scary, but it's the landing that does the damage
