Alright, thanx for all the advice PoorMan. I'm going to order the speakers now and try to take out the old ones and install the new ones when I have free time. I got college right now, might be going premed, so yea.... no time for anything. I'll post here later if I need more help or show the finished work.

Also, on some websites it said that these speakers were incompatible with my car. It also said bose radios cannot be used with after market speakers. Is this true?

So basically those sites aren't taking into consideration the fact that the amplifiers can be removed from each bose speaker and then hooked up to an individual speaker?

Are they basically only taking into account that the speakers fit the car and can be simply replaced by unplugging the old ones and plugging in the new ones without any minor modifications?

They are under the false impression that running the bose amps at a higher impedance then the stock speakers will harm them.

The stock speakers are 1.2ohms. Aftermarket speakers are usually 4ohms.

The truth of the matter is that the aftermarket speakers will actually be EASIER for the amplifiers to drive.

You've got a very good point. It would be much easier for those little amps to push 4 ohm speakers as opposed to the 1.2 ohms....... eww Bose i cringe when i see those letters in a car that comes into our bay..........

Do you work for a dealer, or an aftermarket stereo shop?

If it's the latter then you should smile. As you know the easiest thing to do is rip out the whole system. This means more money for you. HEHE

I got my speakers today so tommorow I will buy the wire and the connectors.

I looked around best buy and they only had 18+ gauge wire, does this matter?

You should be fine with 18ga.

You're 1. not wiring them to a crazy low impedance, 2. not using more than 2 ft. of wire and 3. not going to be producing very many watts.

Mission Accomlished. I installed the speakers... Took me about 4 hours.

However, I did run into some problems:

1. The old holes for the screws would not line up with the holes in the new speakers. I ended up only using two screws in the front of each speaker. Will this be a problem?

2. The amps are touching the gas tank, sort of laying on it. Is this a problem?

Neither is a problem, but if you're uncomfortable with the second one you can zip tie the amps to each speaker

How does it sound?

The speakers sound great. I got them to work on the first try after I wired everything. The old speakers were a real mess too. The surround was cracked on both of them and one of them had an exposed center.

My front speakers on my '92 Q45 have also been making a crackling sound. I just bought new infinity kappa speakers and I was wondering how I can wire it. My amp for this speaker is burned out, what can I replace it with? I am very new to car audio and such so try to be as specific as you can please. thanks.
