i had mentioned this topic before on the forums I think we can all agree we love driving our 240's but sometimes it would be better if they were more economical to drive. haha b/c we are all not in that high income bracket around here else we would all drive skyline gtr's right? i only get 19mpg with my ka24de and that sucks so if i could get even the same amount of limited performance as the ka from a diesel and get something like 50 mpg i would happily do it even if i wasn't the fastest out there i would be getting amazing mileage and have tons of torque. electric would be even better and as long as the thing does 90 or 100mph then thats cool with me. if any one has done either engines or motors please let me know. I know there is one electric 240 out there but it doesn't have much range but it is quick. we could keep 240's alive even after oil is a thing of the past.

On Xtreme4X4 they put a kit in there Suzuki Samurai. All you need is a 99ish and up Jetta diesel and this company gives you everything you need to run biodiesel. There goes trunk space though, because you still need to run regular diesel until the bio diesel heats up.

Why not buy a Jetta TDI, put the kit in that, and make the 240 project or weekend driver.

Alright well is it possible to or is there a diesel Nissan engine that could be swapped into a 240, 300, or Harbody? The reason I bring this up is because a friend of my dads is considering producing bio-diesel on a huge scale like 5000 gallons huge and the end cost after taxes and we would need to make a profit would come to plus or minus fifty cents on a dollar fifty per gallon.

Secondly if you live in Central Florida do you know anyone that gets rid of large amounts of cooking/vegetable oil? Or would you be interested in bio-diesel? Or if you have any swap info for a Nissan diesel swap for a S chassis or a Z chassis.

Lastly the thing about bio-diesel is that it burns cleaner and is more efficient than dino-diesel. We tryed some out in a TDI Passat and it averaged 55MPG!

Disadvantages?:1. Bio-diesel is made of partially of methanol and may not work with standard fuel hose.2. Custom drive train?

Advantages:1. Turbo?2. 40 - 50 MPG3. I'm not positive on the details but there are some tax write-offs on bio-diesel.

Just looking for some thoughts or intrest.
Yo, I Know this is an old thread but anyways I thought about a Sd33t or a tb45 would be a cool diesel swap into a 240.. These motors are off the Nissan patrol or nissan Safari and i have seen them take on exotics like no problemo. the only problem with this swap is the transmission which is awd.
