F50 handles better especially in sports mode. The acceleration on F50 is a lot better. The 2002 have a lag while downshifting otherwise it quick and smooth.

I have not driven a 2005 but they have changed the gear ratios in 2005 and its even fast than 2002.
Yeah, I have that lag. Pisses me off!

I need it NOW sometimes. Then the moment is gone and I don't need it anymore. That's when it kicks in. Then I brake, cuz the moment was lost.

Dig it?

Definitely smooth though.

My wife hated the Q when I got it. Said "That's ok, it's your car. I don't have to love it".

Now there's a baby seat in both the Q AND the Benz."So you have a baby seat in the Q, just in case".

Translation:Now I like the Q, and want to be able to take it whenever I want, without having to mess with the baby seat.

Baby likes the Q better than the Benz too.

I have an '05, and the transmission is fine. Not quite as quick to kick down as some, but adequate. Smooth and relatively quick shifting, with good perception of how quick and hard it needs to move up or down from one gear to another. It reads my mind.

My biggest complaints are the understeer, slight road wander, and vagueness of the steering. If I can have a bigger sway bar made, and can find someone who can figure out how to dial a little more caster into the front suspension, I think it will be perfect.

BTW, while the VDC must be switched off after every key start, the "Sport Mode" for the shocks remains until it's turned off manually.

It's a coincidence, but today on my way home from a short trip, I was on a decreasing radius freeway ramp. I had switched the VDC off and set the suspension to "Sport". The car didn't push anywhere near as much as it does with the VDC on, and held the curve even flatter than when the suspension switch is left in the "Normal" mode. I had fun!

OH, and now that it's cooler here and I don't need the A/C, my fuel mileage mixed city and freeway is running around 21 to 22 mpg, as opposed to 19 to 20 or 21 with A/C on. Not bad for a 340 HP 4050 lb luxury sedan.

I have a 95 G50 and I'm getting 22.6 MPG with highway driving and 20 MPG average around town. I did put a can of BG44K in the fuel tank and it idles much smother now. I like the power it gives me to get away from the jerks on the highway that cant drive. I dont want to drive a newer Q because I know I will fall in love. I like this car. My kids say it's their favorite car I have ever owned. So it costs an extra 4 bucks to fill up with 92 octane. That is a small price to pay for luxury. My SUV only gets 15 MPG so it sits at home.

I drove the Q nearly the same number of miles last year as my Intrepid on the drive to and from work. The Q with an average of 20 mpg and the Intrepid at 29 mpg. The Q on premium gas was just below $500 more to drive. I got to work and home faster in the Q though.

Probably looked better too right?

Q's are just unique cars. I love it. I can stare at the car in the parking lot for 10-15 minutes before I realize what I'm doing. Especially at night.

I remember when I first bought it, freshly detailed from the dealer, I would stand on the driveway and just look at it. My brother thought I was crazy.

WHAT?!? 100 Octane? What is that? Rocket fuel? One day I'd fill up on it just to see. I'd probably get addicted to it and go bankrupt fueling the Q.

Just got the car from the Touchless wash. I soaped up the tires and wheels to cool them down before spraying my foaming wheel cleaner. Then I went through the wash. The car looked AMAZING! I had forgotten how bright my stock wheels were. Spayed them down with Tire Shine, aw, it's a beautiful sight. I have to do the inside now. But it's dark, so that'll happen tomorrow.

In the South having a few junkers at home is a badge of passage, especially now the we can't water flowers or lawns or trees or wash our cars.
I can't find any junker Qs in Bama Dennis. Maybe you can hook me up with a few.

I paid $3.24 for prem gas today. The thing that really pisses me off about the whole gas thing is that while prices are going up big companies like Texaco, BP, etc. are making record profits. What does that tell me? They're just raising prices because we keep paying it. How much is something worth? As much as the market will bear.

Gas prices do bother me and should bother you. What was once a small portion of my monthly expenses is now significant and if you haven't noticed it's affecting the prices of everything; milk, grocerices, parts, pizza, etc.

There we go, $3.24!

Now there's someone who's finally got something to cry about on the gas prices.

I was getting a little sick of hearing some of these bishez crying about $2.60 or $2.80 a gallon.

In So. Cal. we don't have gas that's useable in a Q for less than $3.

Oh wait, I got a company gas card. I forgot, I don't care. Sorry.

You just use water to cool the wheels down?SSHHHH! I talk to mine.

They talk back!

Shut up! They do!

I use "Never Dull" and semi-chrome polish. And I talk to 'em.Mine are way shiny!

God damn fires out here F'd up my paint job though.

Ash fell from the sky and coated everything. Then we got a really light rain, which let whatever harmful crap in the ash just kinda burn into my paint.

I tried detail spray with a clay bar. Then this super expensive swirl & haze remover. Then this even more expensive butter wax.

Still got these little spots all over the damn car.

Hey did we get like way off track here?

No junker Q's in Alabama because on their last legs they head [limp and twitch and stumble] towards ATL as the elephant burial grounds are located here. If they die during the trip they are towed across the state line.

Why we have 5 dealerships, 3-T3's and multi dozens of incompetents.

The same year used Q is least expensive to initially purchase vs V8 from MB, BMW, Audi, Lexus.

If only Q had a fold down gun rack from head liner it might be more popular in other sections of the South.

I was confused by it.

Must be a southern thing!

I actually modified my rear window screen so there is a gun rack on it.

That way when A holes get to close, I hit the button, raise the rack, show'em what's up and then lower it back down.

That's how I roll!

I don't complain about Premium being $2.69. I remember having to pay that much for regular. Premium @ $2.69 is a god send.

But right across the bridge into Philadelphia (Where I go to school) premium is like $3.39.

I make it a point to fill up on Premium every Sunday night before going back to school. Most I've spent was like $38.

I'd rather spend $38 on a tank of gas than spending a mortgage on repairs. And having to suffer the indignities of driving a cheap Korean economy car provided by the warranty company.
