I do agree that seeing a car in person does enhance its beauty, or at least helps to explain its design. It also helps to see it moving, and to see it during the day and night.
That said, I've seen my share of Z4s and 7s. Theyre ugly as sin. The Z4 can look sharp when it flies by at high speeds and you can barely see anything except the tail lights. The Lexus LS430, on the other hand, I thought looked fine in pictures, until I saw it in person and found it awkward looking. It tries to slam the Cadillac Deville and Mercedes S-Class into one package. Thats like Arnold Scwarzenegger and Danny Devito having a baby and then hoping it comes out cute.
The Infiniti M45, however, is gorgeous in person. Just freaking gorgeous. (See Infiniti thread for my review.)
