is it a big hose? if it is, then thats the thermostat housing that draws in from the lower radiator hose. Flush the engine from there. This is what i did. I took off the 3 bolts that holds the housing on the motor. Take out the thermostat, make sure you buy a new one and a new gasket. Replace that big hose if you need too. I'd replace the upper radiator hose too if it looks pretty bad. Next step, take a garden hose or something with a bit of pressure and put it to the hole where the thermostat was. Spray water into it. The water will circulate and come back out the hole next to it. Keep the hose in there until the water comes out clear. Then put everything back together and add coolant. Make sure the heater and the car is on.

hmm... not exactly sure if its the lower hose... or the upper one... from where i can see it... the left corner of the car... where the battery is and where the overflow valve is... i see like one big hose with the clamp (which is blocking my view of the leak, but i know its behind the clamp and its the hose behind it) and another big hose behind it... and thats the one that is leaking... i think im gonna try to get a picture of it... not sure if i can though...

havent tried to dismantle my car yet... hopefully tomorrow after my job interview =)... gonna try to pull out the pulleys for a better look...

thanks

just off topic... but had an idea...

its like your intake... but what if i left it stock where it was... and added a pipe like yours... so itll be collecting air from both ends of the car... kinda weird... but it was just a thought... i wonder would it actually get more air... hahaha...

another idea... bc i was thinking of the mr2's.... i wonder what would happen or is it even possible to put the engine of the 240 in the trunk... and have the trunk in front of the car... just like an mr2... stupid thought again ?!... well... YEAH... hahaha... just was thinking of the crazy things...

sounds like the heater hoses. theres 2 hoses the same size and a big hose which is a radiator hose. the 2 smaller ones are coolant hoses. easy to get to if you move the power steering out of the way.

your idea sounds pretty good, but then the MAF cant stay in the stock spot, it would have to be where mine is. or else one pipe would get metered air and the other wouldnt and the car wouldnt run right because its a major vacumm leak.

the MR2 idea isnt bad either, a fwd altima drivetrain and motor could be used.

back to the intake thing...

so how would you solve that problem of the vacumm leak ?... what if you add to MAF ?!... like connect two MAF together ?!... hahaha... twice the intake sound !... its like having double exhuast !... hahaha VROOOOM

i dont think the ecu would like 2 MAF's. Besides the main point of moving the intake to where i have it is to get cooler air than where it was before on the exhaust side. My next step maybe to drill a hole into the battery tray and run another pipe into the front bumper.

Hey nismo..can I get part numbers and where you bought the two 12 inch electric fans from?..those seem to mount well on the radiator and i'm going to do the exact same setup as you-

Ill have to look for the boxes tomorrow, if theyre still around. They were generic fans i got from a domestic speedshop. 40 bucks each and so far they havent failed.

"as for the shroud and fan, theres 4 screws that hold the shroud, one at each corner. the fan shroud is hard to take off with the radiator hoses in the way, so i just cut the shroud in half and removed the pieces. then i have more access to remove the 4 10mm nut that hold the fan to the fan clutch. then another set of 4 10mm nuts hold the fan clutch to the water pump pulley. once you remove those, put the nuts back on the pulley and tighten them up or else the pulley will come off. this is just to free up some hp and space."

you cut your fan shroud ?... but i still want mine intact... so should i still take mine apart ?... is it that hard to reach the other two bolts... the lower ones i mean...

Nope, just remove the splash sheild cover thing on the bottom of the engine, then you can access the other bolts. I cut mine because there was no other way to get it out without taking the hoses off. But since your doing your cooling system it wont be a problem for you.

ok... i just found out that it isnt a hose... my cousin who knows about cars... mostly honda/acura came over today to help me problem solve... we found out that it wasnt coming from behind one of the pulleys... its actually shooting water out from the other direction...

he said it was like the heater core or something... i know its metal... ok... from the big hose that goes from the top of the radiator... follow that... goes into a metal area... now just around the corner of that is where the water is coming out from... it seems to be completely solid... so its one big piece that has to be replaced right ?... you know how much thatll cost me ?... including labor ?

take the hose that goes to it off, then 3 bolts hold the thermostat housing to the motor. take those off. then the housing will come off, if it doesnt just pull on it. Inspect it carefully. Replace the thermostat and buy a gasket for it. If the housing does have a crack, head to your local junkyard and get one. If there isnt one check the dealership. Hmm, infact, I have a spare one. You can have it free, just pay shipping.

Yes, thats what called a cooling system flush vs a rdaiator drain and refill.

Adam you mean to say drains:)

A radiator drain generally will leave most of your coolant still in cooling sytem.A flush (if the term is properly used and some marketeers try to sneak the term in as a synonym for a drain)
