I saw my name here and thought I'd de-lurk for a moment.
Yes, 1993 white convertible.
I live in Michigan and the only other time I've posted in this forum was to ask why you shouldn't put the top down when the temperature is below 40 degrees, as stated in the manual. Well, I've found out why.
Obviously, when it gets colder, the whole assembly shrinks and I've had difficulty operating it even in the twenties, and certainly below. But that's not the real problem, although I think that's why Nissan states you shouldn't be doing it.
A friend of mine told me before the winter that it's the rear window. At very low temperatures it may crack. His cracked when it was exactly zero degrees Fahrenheit. I, at least, beat him: mine cracked when it was seven below.
So now I have a very sad looking rear window. I barely need to replace it, though, as I drive it with the top down every day. Over 100 days of driving, all with the top down. I've chronicled my journey on LiveJournal:

Things I'm looking for (or to replace): steering wheel, convertible boot, engine. My engine is really sick.
And I'm a guy, not a chick.
