Great to have you aboard.

The going rate for a nice condition boot is usually $300 or so. We've seen some ebay auctions hit $400+.

So the $275 you spent was not too shabby at all.
Thanks for having me. I found my old profile from years ago when I bought my first 240 (sileighty) so i'll just use this username now.

Thank you for reassuring that I didnt get ripped off.

I am going to try and post some pics up the boot and the car soon, I am having a hard time with photobucket today. As soon as photobucket and I end our battle I will have them up.

here's some pics of my boot folded up in the trunk. it does put a little bit of crease in the center of the boot, but it comes right out in the sun, so it's worth it to me.

step one, lay it down top part facing downwards and fold left side in like so....

step two, fold it down the center make sure the first fold is not being crunched in there, do it loosely.....

step three, fold the last section on TOP not under the second fold....

and in the trunk....

if you do it like this, you won't get any heavy creases and you will still have half your trunk space for whatever else you want to carry around that would actually fit there. i was tired of my boot being kept in the garage and not used ever because it wouldn't fit in the trunk along with the subwoofer.

I have boot & bag as well Just gotta figure a way to clamp it down better since I don't have a rear seat (or the oem metal part behind the rear seat) anymore. Home Depot clamps & clips, here I come.

maybe you need a "boot" for the trim when the top is up, hee hee.

And jamesblonde82, thank you very much for that mini-write up. Will come in handy if I ever need to fit it in tight trunk space.

Did you find any issue w/ the plastic retainer (plastic looking piece that runs a long the rear of the boot on the under side) in boot being folded like so? Mine is cracked in 2 places already & loosey goosey now thinking about just removing it entirely.

Good point! You know I've learned that not all boot covers have that plastic liner underneath. It's possible Nissan decided to add the newer models(maybe 93-94?). I've never seen one without the crack. Mine had it, but it was cracked, so I removed it.

if you are talking about this........

then no, i didn't have any issues with it. if you dont pile anything on top of the boot while it's in the trunk, and if you just fold it real loosely, any slight creases just simply come out in the heat of the sun. awesome pics btw!

Just picked one up with bag from a member. If you're looking for one check the 'trading' thread, for how rare they are it seems like the most traded part!

I have a boot and a bag but someone has taken the back half of my vert apart at some point and screwed up a few of the snaps so I can't get it in right. I guess once it quits dumping snow here I'll get around to fixing it.

I have the boot, but no bag... it's actually in pretty good shape, too!
