With that being said, I do have to say that I am a bit surprised as well. Not to take anything away from Rob's car, I like it so far, but have you seen some of the other cars that win ROTM?

There are people who have put 10's of thousands of dollars into modding some of those cars.

Some people may think that I am saying this out of jealousy, but I dont even think that I should have won, and I have put a lot more than just a fascia, painted stock components, and LEDs everywhere into my car. The CF hood is the biggest mod on there.

The car does look good, but I can think of quite a few coupes that I would have put ahead of this one.

Sorry to s*** on the Congrats thread, but it is just my $0.02 And I'm sure that I wasnt the only one thinking it.

That may be why this happened...

I honestly didnt know how to respond.

PS: To Rob: I hope that you don't take this as a personal attack, I really like your car, and where it is going. Im just comparing it to previous winners and the work that they have done.

I don't think that anyone said it was about money; I think you misinterpreted what John was trying to convey here. There just isn't all that much done to this particular car (modification-wise) to warrant ROTM status.

And this is by no way a personal attack on Rob Vegan, I just disagree with some comments and decisions made here. Congratulations though.

Never saw that pic BUT the reason why i said what i said is bc out of the cars that posted up there rides i really like his on the OUTSIDE. I mean i know he doesnt have a s***ton done but the only ones who do are surman dangeris DOC and like "the other turboed coupe sorry i forgot ur name"

I mean if you look at who posted none of the really nice cars posted there s***. Like i deff dont have enough done to deserve this and my pics blew giant ones. And no offense the coupes didnt rep as hard as i wished. ESPECIALLY DOC i wish he woulda won or even surman he has so many random mods noone else does. Other than DOC or Surman i think for "random that noone else has" i have that lol but its just lights lol

Congrats. I have to say I laughed when I saw you got the. 2.5 because you would have gotten too many speedng tickets in the 3.5. I didn't realize there was a 65 mph limit on the 2.5.

this is not entirely true... my truck made it as a project track car still in the works... i bought it for $800 bucks and as far as actual modding goes i have thus far only put in around $500... everything else was just done custom by me or some of my friends... not to mention my truck is no where near what it will be in the future

i think rob's car is sweet lookin' and the amount of mods done to a car should have no effect on ROTM... as long as its not stock and looks good... his car looks b****in

congrats rob

*disclaimer* i made ROTM before i was a mod on here... just so there's no fights that break out in that respect

A few thoughts:

ROTM is not a car show... it's not awarded by points, or whose car is cleaner or has more mods.

It's an opportunity to feature someone's ride in a major market web publication, and an opportunity for the car to be seen by potential sponsors.

Honestly, most people are too lazy to submit an entry for ROTM.

While I do agree with that Greg, I wasnt trying to say anything bad about the car selected. But there were quite a few people who threw their hats in the ring for this one. Im not saying "Bad Choice", I am however surprised.

when the original thread was created, there were some really creative cars thrown in there. Doc, to use one example, has come up with arguably the most unique altima coupe I have ever seen, and thats without any kind of sponsorship. Thats the only point I was trying to make.

There are a lot of coupes with the same fascia (I'm guilty of that one), there are a lot of people with painted components and LEDs (Phenom, for the love of God ), and there were a like 3 or 4 pages of coupes submitted.

Once again, I hope no one thinks that I am attacking any choices made by the decision makers here. I was just stating an opinion.

Rob's car does look good, and I'm happy for him. And I will end my rant with that statement.
