Reminds me of 20-30 years ago with all the muscle cars running around the streets with wheelie bars...

I like them as I am a fan of the track car look. A big, exposed tow hook can be useful on daily drivers. Like when I get my girl's car stuck in the snow...

The only tow hook fad we have down here is "drift charms." The only big tow hooks I ever see are at track events. I track my car and don't have an aftermarket tow hook. My stock ones did just fine when I had to be towed, though I did have to fish around for them in the dark.

I've needed a tow hook just for driving on regular roads this winter. Ice and snow can really get you stuck.

I thought you were talking about the stock one that comes on the rear of a 240... I'm guessing the front tow hook is to either get the car on the trailer or out of a ditch or something?

There is a tow hook on the front and the rear of a 240, actually. (IIRC)

The 240, S14 anyway, has two front tow hooks and one in the rear.

This is the obnoxious sight adrian is referring to:

And in reality, most track cars have a very modest tow hook in comparison.
