Alright i'm thinking my car need a drop since im getting 18" rims, if i dont it will look freaking ugly with that huge gap....
Okay just wanna throw this out before anyone say use the SEARCH button. I done researches here on almost every forum about this topic.
I see like a equal number of ppl saying Eibach is good and wont wear out our struts. But some say they will and some sed coils are a better way to go...

Just wanna hear some more fresh opinions on this.... Since i'll be having this car until im done with college... so it will be a very long time until i get a new car....

So in all honest word... is Eibach or BC coils better...?

I like the BC Coils. It makes more sense. If you buy the eibach's, you're going to have to replace your stock struts sooner. The amount of money you save by going with eibachs won't actually save you anything in the long run.

I got my eibach spings during one of Stillen's black Friday sales for really cheap and installed myself. I couldn't be happier, but I'm sure coils would ride better, and look better a little lower than the eibach's. But I scrub on everything now, so I couldn't go lower if I wanted to. Best bang for my buck, plus I could never bring myself to pay $1000 for coils.

Go with coils if you can afford them - they're adjustable you can fine tune the ride height and adjust damping. And coils will last longer than an eibach/oem strut combo.

There's a noticeable difference in smoothness between my old eibach/oem strut combo (harsh) vs. my Tein SS's (not so harsh).

I've been dropped on Eibach's for 2 years now on OEM struts and they are perfectly fine. I have 84,000kms on the car now and dropped it when I bought the car. The roads here are horrible with dips, holes, etc. I have yet to blow a strut. There is so much travel I do not see how you can blow them unless you're SUPER hard on the car and abusing it.

I agree though, should get coils from the get-go. The adjust-ability and ride quality is worth it.

But as far as im seeing now coils are a better way to go

I bought mine directly from BC because I missed out on any group buys and because I couldn't find them cheaper anywhere else. And you'll have to go slower over speed bumps, without a doubt. You'll also have the angle your car slightly so that you send one front wheel over them at a time. Besides that, speed bumps are no biggy, and you'll get the hang of it.

I welded a skid plate on my exhaust for this very reason where the axel-back muffler portion connects at the flange. It's angled to when it hits something it simply pushes up the exhaust system an inch or two so it doesn't tear it off or damage it. The Greddy Spectrum Elite was obviously designed for non-lowered cars and better roads... lol.

I've been in Eibach Pro-Kits for almost 3 yrs now and no issues. I would love to upgrade to coilovers when i can, but for now the Ebach's work. The speed bumps are work are horrible, and if i dont go over them slow enough, i do scrap. If and when i do get the coilovers, I'd more than likely park on the 1st level of the parking garage to be safe.

coils! i had eibachs before, and it wasn't a horrible ride but if youre only putting on 18s youre still gonna have a sizable gap. i'm somewhat low (though not slammed) and i don't have a problem with speedbumps, only extremely steep driveways

Here is what you want to think about......

I have 18" and 19" and I have had eibachs and I have D2 Coils on now.

The main reason people get coils is for the look... You want it too look slammed. But if you go for the look slammed on 18" you are 2" off the ground or lower which means you cant go over any bump in the slightest.... no speed bumps, no inclines, no parking garages..... its kind of a hassle.... but it looks sick

the Eibachs will run you $200 plus install and they will be 1" higher...
You can go over speed bumps.... ssssssllllllllooooowwwwwly

I have the BC Racing coils, im not sure what the exact height is (though i can tell you i have a 1.5 finger gap in the front and a 0 finger gap in the back). I think what helps my car with the bumps though is that i'm on 20s

Well i dun want to look slammed... just a bit lower will be enough to make me happy...
Im getting 18" Rims within this week... So coils or springs will be better for me?
PS: I dont want it super low at the point where i cant even go over speed bumps lol... i still want to do the normal stuff...

If you get springs and it isnt low enough for you, then you are going to regret it. Just save the time and money and get coils. You wont regret them.
And adjustable dampening is awesome if you like to drive aggressive one day and leisurely other day.

From everything your describing go with Springs.... you dont want Coils its way to bumpy for someone who doesnt want to be slammed...

If you can find Tein springs, do that but I think they only make it for 3.5
otherwise go with Eibachs they are pretty good

well just because you have coils, doesn't mean you have to be slammed. and if you get springs you'd have to replace your stock struts anyways, so might as well do everything in one go

Dont go with coils your struts will be fine... I had my eibachs for 20000miles and had no problems the only reason I upgraded is cause I got a deal on Coils.... Im telling you it will be very bumpy!!! very

Do you have them set to max softness?

Even on that setting the difference is immense

Eibachs are practical and comfortable in comparison

i'm nowhere near max softness. meh, i guess to each their own; it doesn't feel that bad to me so that's my side of it.
