I was using the stock 7k/7k rates. Problem solved with Tein's. No more wheel hop either and have better tire contact on the road.

i used 6k front and 8k rear and the ride is comparable to my friends tein ss's on his TL... I've also ridden on HKS hipermax's, kw variant's, megans, k sports, jic's, and now the bc racing and i'm very pleased with the performance. The only thing i wish i had was that EDFC... what spring rates do tein use on the super streets?

Using the same spring rates on Tein's website. EDFC soon to come.

A 17mm crescent wrench did the trick, and now the noise is gone. An impact gun might have been able to fix it, but with the knob there, I don't know if I was going to be able to get it done. If it comes loose again, at least I know what to do.

The more faint sound is still coming from the back, but because it's more faint and because there's so much more effort involved in getting to it, I'm going to put that off for another day.
You can actually take the top knob off. Use a 14mm wrench to remove it. I actually removed my driver size since it somehow bent...So I just use the passenger knob when I need to adjust the driver side lol. I also had the gap and the best way to actually fix it is to jack up your car and loosen the perches because when you tighten the top bolt you might need to redo the pre-load. I notice when I redid the pre-load thinking that was the problem I notice the top bolt needed to be re-tighten even more than before. But if the sound is gone I guess you are safe.

Dude let me know how that goes. I'm planning on going that route in the future when I actually get the coilovers. Should be awesome!!!

Good to know; I periodically tighten both front bolts, now, and an impact gun might be a more "permanent" fix if the noise keeps coming back.

I haven't attempted to do the rears yet, because the bolt wasn't where I thought it would be (by the knob, way up in the wheel well). I think it's closer to the wheel, so I'll have to remove it to take care of it.

Worst-case scenario is that I have to unbolt the actual shock and then reattach everything... giving more opportunity for something to be too loose. Sort of defeats the purpose.
