ZX coilovers would be the cheapest and most easily-attainable option if you live in the US imo... cuz when new, almost all comparable coilovers are priced about the same, but good luck finding new skyline coilovers in the US. Now when you're talking about used, again, good luck finding skyline ones in the US. Yes, they're out there, but not as plentiful as Z32 ones. With that said, the deal is this with the stock components first: Z32 struts are overall, much larger in body diameter, so that might actually be a good thing if you want to run them on the Q. The rears are almost identical except for the top hats, so nothing's gained by swapping a stock Z32 rear into the G50, but if you are going aftermarket, then it should fit right in, provided you use your original top hat. The fronts is where things get interesting. The stock Z32 unit is a good, almost 3" shorter in length than the G50's strut, measured eyelet center to stud top. The G50's bottom eyelet mount is a little larger in diameter than the Z32's, but the bushing OD are the same, so you can press the G50's bushing into the Z32's casing, and the bottom will slip right into the suspension's twisted control arm. The top hats are where things get a little interesting... the Z32 top hat's mounting studs are just a hair closer together than the G50's. So you could use a little grinding bit on a dremel and enlarge the holes in your strut tower by a mm or two inward, and you can use the Z32 top hat, and the whole assy will be about 2" lower than the G50's, thus lowering your car just about 2" more than before (i.e. if you had, say, lowering springs that lowered your car 2" before, you'd now be almost 4" down, and the ratio between strut travel and axle travel is pretty close to 1:1 for all intents and purposes). OR, you can use the G50 top hat, BUT, it's an elevated mount design, that raises the bearing up above the strut tower... so basically, you won't have to slot the strut tower mounting holes, and you'll end up about 3" lower than before. But, again, if going with aftermarket Z32 coilovers, you'll have to see what kind of lower eyelet it uses... if it's a pillow ball, you'll have to see if you can replace a larger one in, or if it uses a pressed in bushing, you'll have to press the G50's eyelet bushing in. And, if it's already a lot shorter than the stock Z32 strut, even at full extension, then you'll want to use the Z32-specific top hat it comes with, since running it with the G50 one might leave you with a car that is actually TOO low
EDIT: Oh yah, OR, just get something already made for the G50, whether it be new or used, JIC, or other... more aftermarket Q45 parts will be popping up within the next year or two, I guarantee
