a lot of the coilovers out there blows out and leak. coilovers are good if you are going to corner weight your load distribution with a scale. if you don't have access to that, it's almost impossible to get the right setting.I would take an aggressive shock and spring combo any day. just because majority of people point directly to coilovers, it don't mean that shocks and spring combo sucks.

one thing with coilover is that you set it once, you'll never touch it again.

DONT FORGET BRAKES BEFORE TURBO!!!! Going fast is good, stopping fast is great. It keeps your car alive, lol.

Holy crap, they lowered the prices again, I might have to pick up a set of these soon.

Its really what you want, you don't need other people to tell you what you want. If you want power, do turbo.... if you want better handling, suspension. Coilovers are not your only option... there are spring/strut setups that perform far superior than 98% of the coilovers found on cars in this forum.

But if you go coilovers, I recommend endura-techs over pbm and stance all day. Theres alot more to suspension than just "slamming" your car... ha but try telling that to everyone....
I did suspension and brakes first but I didn't buy the parts. When you people say coilover and then this guy says spring, strut I'm going with that's what I went with and I've never driven a car that has the handling of my car. I spent at least 1,500 on my suspension though. *might have been more I need to check receipts.*

lol coilover fanboi. if your gonna spend a grand spend 200 more and run koni yellows with g/c sleeves. by far more superior then any 1000 jdm coil setup. ask around with the scca guys... i mean they do track their cars all the time.
wow some wisdom from 240 gen-chat

i second brizanden's notion... suspension first; but not necessarily coils do alot of research on different setups. spring/shocks can be just as effective... sure you wont drag your frame rails around like the cool kids. but koni really makes an excellent product

hahaha. Everytime I see a car that's overly lowered I just point, laugh, and sigh in disappointment. I agree with koni and ground control, by far superior to most JDM coilovers

I love watching kids on here that have slammed cars on stock wheels thinking they know a thing or 2 about suspensions. IF they did, they would realize how bad they are messing up their suspension geometry.

Koni/GC is great, but you gotta remember, you can't just slap these together and its awesome.... you can customize this setup to your liking whether you want a stiff ride, or a firm ride for daily. Call ground control up and they can help you figure out proper spring rates so that the valving on the struts compliment them.

Koni w/Ground Control certainly is a great setup. But we must remember, not every member is going for that SCCA level handling. Some ppl just want to moderately enhance both handling and looks by eliminating some unsightly wheel gap on their daily driven street car. And I haven't seen any Koni + whatever spring combo go low enough to satisfy in the looks department.

OP, if you go with coils, make sure to buy quality and as a backup plan, get something you won't need to ship back to Japan or China to be rebuilt...

Good luck.

You know, there are pros and cons to both setups. Camber plates will set you back a couple hundred bucks, and the Koni/ CG route isn't cheap either.

And, most coilovers nowadays have separate height and preload adjustment, so assuming you'd have all adjustable arms, you can slam your can without sacrificing ride quality. And with a little over a grand, there are decent inverted monotube coilovers out there, great for starting out.

Don't forget tires. You'll need to put the power down somehow.

I am going for endura-tech coils, they are $1050 on the endura-tech site.http://www.endura-tech.com/pro...ey=30 People that have them seem to swear by them, zerothread?id=210342 but that is familiar to almost all coilovers . I am interested in reasearching the koni's now though.

I have pretty good brakes now, my upgrade would probably be to buy stickier pads and rotors, I already have stainless lines up front.

I am just going to stick with endura tech coilovers. I looked at the koni's and stuff, but for expensive and probably overkill.

Have you checked out Tein? I've heard they are a good alternative as well and are around $850 - 900.

I did a little, I think. I like the endura techs because of the adjustability and they come with a camber plate, I dont know if the Teins do.

I went ahead and bought the enduratechs, they raised the price (i think) a week before i bought them. So i had to hardball the distributor to lower the price back a little. I bought from P&L in IL, i think they are near chicago, and they should be in by thursday and car should be lowered by friday
