My car, a 1993 240sx convertable, has a thicker front sway bar, nismo power brace and front strut tower bar.

Should I invest in coilovers before I add the turbo? I am looking at like 280-300whp. Thanks for reading!

Well turbo is way more expensive, complicated and easy to mess up. Coilovers first.

280-300whp will overpower the stock set-up. I found that out the hard way!

I vote coils first, cars gotta be able to handle the power first.

CoiloversFast cars and turbos are nice, but nothing beats a stiff ride with little to no body roll.

Well, without them you're going to lean real far back and nose dive like crazy during boosted gear changes.

Up to you. But coilovers are a pain free install. Turbo is not.

Make sure you buy something quality.

I think I have decided on enduratech's. Dexter gave these a good review, and they are only like $1k.

Holy crap, they lowered the prices again, I might have to pick up a set of these soon.

Its really what you want, you don't need other people to tell you what you want. If you want power, do turbo.... if you want better handling, suspension. Coilovers are not your only option... there are spring/strut setups that perform far superior than 98% of the coilovers found on cars in this forum.

But if you go coilovers, I recommend endura-techs over pbm and stance all day. Theres alot more to suspension than just "slamming" your car... ha but try telling that to everyone....

i would just keep going with the suspension sense your already almost done with it. i think you will be more happy with them rathing them having a turbo with a sloppy suspension.

why coilovers? you could get some new more agresive shocks that can work just as good.

there are a few reasons: I dont have a spring compressor, I cant get only shocks I would get shocks and springs, I think a designed coilover for my ride would be better then almost all spring/shock combos out there and for $1k there dont hurt my pockets that bad. Also, I want to get some track time with the car, these arent JUST so I can turbo safely, it would be an upgrade eventualy. Thanks for all the responses

I would do coils over turbo any day. Sounds like your going that way any ways.

originaly i wasnt going to, i was hoping to turbo this spring and just drive it softly, lol, then save up for coilovers. But now it looks like coils in the spring and turbo in the summer, which might end up being easier on my wallet anyway with a summer job and all.

Suspension and brakes before power. I've spent a LOT going that route and some people laugh at me, others agree without question. Oh well, my car.

Like everybody suggested, coilovers all the way. KW Variant 3 all the way.

lol coilover fanboi. if your gonna spend a grand spend 200 more and run koni yellows with g/c sleeves. by far more superior then any 1000 jdm coil setup. ask around with the scca guys... i mean they do track their cars all the time.
