Odd thing is i unplugged them both last night and my car didn't act up today, the only cel i got was a vss code lol. Feelsgoodman lol

After a plenum pull, I learned the hard way that unlabled O2 and KS sensor connectors are exactly the same/interchangeable. No CEL or permanent damage that I know of, but performance wasn't really right until things were fully sorted out.

When my O2 sensors started to go, the CEL didn't turn ON until I slowed near the very end of 100+ mile/2hr highway speed trips.

Actually and according to the stored codes in the ECM, only one was failing enough to cause the CEL to turn ON, but I decided to change them both, thinking that the job/access to them would be the same for both sides. As I recall changing the driver's side sensor was a bit easier.

Funny you say that gerryo, i was looking down at them today and thought to myself that it looks like the passenger side would be easier lol, not much further then the gas filter lol.

I went my my local auto store right now to get those universal ones and go figure they only have 1 in stock, lol grrrr  didn't feel like driving around to the other stores while dinner was getting cold lol, have to go sensor hunting after! Then just put them in before gobble time tomorrow lol

 haha no problem man dont mind helping fellow J owners out(well dont mind helping anyone out lol) glad to help you out. hope replacing those two sensors fixes your issues and codes lol. and mid as well replace both since your there and doing it.

oh and driverdriver or any other admin, might want to fix the typo in the J30 obd1 trouble codes sticky, code 33 is heated oxygen sensor LH and code 53 is heated oxygen sensor RH. and code 35 is just exhaust tempature sensor, and code 11 is camshaft position sensor those are the codes that i found incorrect and need to be fixed for future. thanks!! lol

how-to-read-obd1-trouble-codes-for-1993 ... 17489.html

i was always curious why it said there was 2 exhaust temp sensors cause theres only one of those lol

Recall that I could fit the O2 sensor socket that I bought on only one of them, and thought I was doing the more difficult (driver's side) first.

Penetrating oil (tonight?) is your friend, and watch for reducer bushings coming out along with O2 sensors (that's OK, but possibly an indication of damaged threads). At one point I needed to use an old O2 sensor to chase galled threads inside one of the reducer bushings (sensor clamped in the vice), so be generous with the copper anti-seize and don't over-tighten them for the next guy.

Turkey first? Best of luck!

So far shes got her groove back, still has the rpm fluctuation around 55 mph but shes got power and so far never had a lack of it yet, may have to adjust the idle though soon cause it still hangs low. Got a couple speed sensors today at the j/yard with some extra window motors in case the back ones decide to take a dump soon lol. I took a lot of pics on how to do the universal o2 sensor install, have to post up a how to here soon!

On your struts, there is a thread on how to use 240 struts on the rear.

Last time I looked, no low cost for the fronts.

I seem to remember Yoda was one of the people that has used the 240 rear struts and recommended renting a spring compression tool to make it easy.

Actually I bought a spring compressor.
A good one isn't that expensive.

Wow i feel dumb, i kept coming back via the link and scrolling down to see if any replys had been made and just saw my last post, i just remembered it has pages so i just NOW saw both your post bout the struts lol.

1) First yep i know i need to made that how to thing but i'm debating if i installed them right. A few times it's thrown the codes 33 and 53 again and previous to this code popping up it lacks power and then goes back to normal. This is while just driving doing a steady speed or even after coming to a stop. And it's very noticeable as if all of a sudden I'm towing a trailer or something. I followed the install instructions and spliced the wires exact as the old ones even though it said it didn't matter (just as long as the black was correct, the two whites didn't matter). Any Thoughts to this issue? should i retest the new ones with voltage readings? I'm gonna upload pics to photo bucket right now and post on here in a moment. It won't have steps described right now but enough to show how i did it. :gotme

2) If you have a link handy on the how to instructions on the 240 rear strut swap that be awesome. I'm gonna try to find it but if got it on the top of your head, help a bro out lol. I know i can get a good compressor for the springs for like 40$ at Harbor (china) Freight.

Wonder if it isn't time to check condition of the wiring harness and cleanliness/corrosion of connections between sensors and the ECM.

IDK if it's time for that then i think i'd rather just swap a sbf 302 in there lol. Now thats be fun and fast. HAHAHA

I acutally went and *borrowed* some speed sensors from the j/yard, of the two i got, one had a 1 imprinted on it and the other had a 3 or 2 can't remember, IDK if those make a difference but the *1* looked better though it came off a 93. I put that one on and sadly the only code now so far for the past weeks is 14 still, but besides no o2 code, i also got rid of that loopy rpm around 50 to 60 mph and i don't get that lack of power feeling much at all anymore, just once every now and then. Like sunday while working, it didn't bog on me at all, was spunky all day. So i'm trying to figure out where that reed switch is that i've been told about. You know where it is? :wtf2: :poke:
