So I have a chance to buy '02 Mustang Cobra R rims, very nice condition, with two tires (fronts) with good tread.

The only thing is that the front are 17x9's and the rears are 17x10.5's...

1st question is...will they work alright on my Max...or will the 10.5's be to wide...

2nd question...how gay would it look to have staggered front rims??

But for 175 for the set...I'm not sure if I'm gonna pass them up either way...I just wanted to see what you guys thought...

I've got a feeling 10.5 inch wide Mustang wheels aren't going to come close to working on a Max... They're probably REALLY low offset.

I'd get them, sell the rears and try to buy another set of fronts.

Of course that's assuming the fronts will work on a Maxima anyway. What's the stock wheel width/offset?What are some other Maxima owners running?

On a side note, I wonder if you could run 4 of those rears on an S13 or S14????

Well from what I've seen, heard, and read, ALL Mustang rims have the same off-set as the Maxima's, so I could run any Mustang rim I want. I have seen these rims on a Maxima before, as well as other types of Mustang rims...so I'm pretty sure thats true.

Now as for the 240 idk...but it would have to be a 5-lug at any rate...but I know you could get a knock off of the Mustang Cobra rim with the correct offset for the 240...I'll find out what these rims are for sure....

They would look amazing on a 240 for sure

I don't think I would run 2 different size rims on a FWD car. I own a Mustang so know a bit about them.

1. There is no '02 Cobra R, they were only made in 95 and 00, and only 300 were made each year. These are factory made race ready cars; no ac, no radio, no sound deadening.2. These wheels are probably replicas which are just as good.3. There was no Cobra made in '02 at all. The first Cobra was made in 93 and they were made consecutively through 99. Due to power issues with the 99 they did not make one again until 01. Then due to develpoment on the Terminator ()nickname for the 03/04 Cobra), there were no Cobra's made in 02.

With that said Cobra R wheels are nice. I would get them for my Stang but I like the factory Bullitts better.

Well these ARE factory as far as I know because I'm buying them off of some kids cobra mustang...and as for the the year and R stuff....

you could be very correct. I'm ONLY going by what I was told by the seller. I'm not very familiar with the mustangs so yea...

Thanks for clearing that up!!

here is a pic of the Rims...tell me what you can about them if you can...thanks!

and here is another of the front...

I assume you're referring to the same width and offset, as offset must be used in combination with width to truly understand the sit and placement of the mounted wheel.

Yeah thats why I wasn't sure about that 10.5 rear rim...I knew most of the stockers would fit but I wasn't sure about that...

10.5 will likely be too wide. The stock Max rims are 7 IIRC.

Can't tell from your pics, all I see are X's.

Here's a good pic I found of a Cobra R.

Here's a close up of a Cobra R replica wheel-chrome.

Here's a 2003 "Terminator" Cobra replica wheel.

Here's a 1995 Cobra R replica.

Here's what mine came with stock, anthracite Bullitt's.

Sorry I hadn't replied earlier, don't come here often.

Looking at your pics they look more like the 1995 Cobra R, not the 2000. But I'm confused, the car they are on is a Cobra from 1999, 2001, 2003 or 2004, unless it has fake badging and a Cobra gull wing. The stang is definetly whats known as a New Edge Mustang which is the 1999 - 2004 model. I'm guessing its an 03/04 Terminator.

If I may ask whats up with the car? It looks like its missing several items from the car like the front and rear bumper cover and side scoops. Was the car in an accident? Are they parting it out? Does it have the 4V engine with factory s/c?

You see I have no clue...

From the pics its definitely a newer style mustang (as you called it, New Edge) because it has the really defined edges and such.

That is what makes me really doubt its fake badged because you can tell by the side of the car, the older ones didnt have those sharp body lines and such.

Now as for the car itself, you're guess is as good as mine...I emailed him and he replied once letting me know that the front rims had good tires and the rears had none. I emailed him back asking for his zip cause I was headed out near where he lived so I could check it out but he has yet to email me back...I sent another tonight

...but yea all I know is from what I gathered from the pictures...

If he does get back to me I will ask him if he is parting it out. If you want me to, give me you're email and I can let you know directly so you don't have to keep checking back here.

The guy is from Youngsville, which is an hour from where I'm at and I'm in Edinboro, I have no clue where Milford is but that will give you an idea anyway.

Wish me luck...

Yep, fake cobra. Actually, my son used to have one. He rear ended a truck that was stalled coming over a hill in his 96 V6 pooh-stang and we replaced the hood with a Cobra R hood, front bumper with a cobra bumper, added cobras to the fender. Added cobra fog lights and it already had flowmasters and GT dual exhaust. It looked great! (at least I thought it did).

Wow actually I like that alot!

My brothers good friend is doing the same sort of thing to his mustang, but his is a little newer than that one in the picture...its probably a 99 or 00.

yeah, it ran pretty good too. Only thing it needed was some good springs to drop it about 1.5 inches. Your friend's has more power too if it's a 99/00. I also had put a Steeda Triax shifter in it. I like Steeda. Got one in my cobra now.

I agree its probably a phobra. The 03/04 rims look very nice so I don't know any other reason to put 95's on them.

For what its worth it doesn't matter if the car is a phobra or not (and the new ones can be faked as well), it does have Cobra wheels, replica or not. I would try to find out who manufactured them because I garauntee they are not stock although they could be Ford Racing wheels. Sure wish there was an engine pic, that would tell us what it is for sure.

SVTCobra, I've heard allot that the MGW shifter is allot better than the Steeda. Do you have any complaints about the Steeda? They're fairly close in price so I think I'll go MGW.

BTW, my Mustang is an '03 GT. I don't think I mentioned that earlier.

I will try to find out and maybe get an engine shot from him, or at least the story behind the car itself

IF the guy EVER contacts me back...idk what the f*** his problem is...but I'm really getting irritated. At least if they are sold already I'd like a response back.

I've installed 5 Triax's now and nobody has ever complained. They all went in very ez too. I also put steeda sport springs and steeda cc plates on my 97 cobra. My wife bought me 95 Cobra R rims for my 97 cobra also from Steeda. They had the best price at the time. Great customer service.03 GT is a great mustang to have too!! Springs make a HUGE difference in the way any stang handles!!! I've owned a 69 Mach, 98 GT convert, 97 cobra, 96 cobra convert (current)

Sounds like you've had some nice Stangs!

I agree that Steeda is awesome, I bought a Mach 1 grill delete from them. I like the Triax but I've heard the MGW is better at the 2-3 shift.

Eventually I will do the springs, hopefully within the next year or so. I would love to have a Cobra, already told the wife if I can find a 99 or 01 Cobra or a Mach 1 within my price range the GT will go. But I'm in no hurry as the GT is nice and I've only had it 6 months.

I remember when my wife wanted a new 'sports' car back in late 1998. We were looking at a left over 98 gt convert. We test drove a 99 GT and I was really impressed with the power! Especially after 9 years of driving either a taurus wagon or our bronco II !! The 99 GT was a stick and the dealer let us take it out without a saleman. I was barking second gear up and down the back roads!! Ended up with the 98 GT convert auto cause she wanted a convert and couldn't pass up the huge discounts. Within 6 months I had traded our new 98 taurus sedan in on a very slightly used 97 cobra coupe.

Nice Stangs! I could talk about them all day. A couple I go to church with both have Stangs too, her's is a 2004 GT vert and his is a 04 Cobra.

When I went to look at mine they let me take it out too by myself. Hadn't driven a stick in about 10 years so I took it easy at first. Now I usually don't spin em out of 1st but I bark 2nd quite often, once I even barked em going into 3rd. I try not to run her hard too much but its sooooo tempting.

I've had an F150 with a 4.6 since 1998 (its a 97) so I'm used to having some power. However when I bought my wife her I30, I took her 96 Saturn SL2 to save money for a Stang. Allot of difference there in power!

PBfrEAk_240sx

Sorry bro, but I wouldn't be suprised if you don't get any replies. When they take awhile to reply it gets kinda fishy IMO. Let us know if you find anything out though and if you end up with the wheels you gotta post a pic.
