So I know that a lot of you knew that I was going to be putting in HID projectors in the Versa when I had it, and I know that a lot of you were also quite interested in the project.

Well I never gave up on doing it once my dad took the V which is now sitting in his backyard covered up as if it were nothing. Anywho I figured I would show you all the progress of my project of now doing it to my old car which is a 94 Suzuki Sidekick which I am going to be converting the front end to a 2004 Scion Xb.

The project is a tedious task, but luckily I was able to not have to fabricate a lot of things due to the ease of the way the stock aftermarket Xb headlights were. This also allowed for me to spend less money buying parts for customization, and has been amazingly easier than the Versa EVER would have been, but I really wish these could have gone onto the V.

Please note that I did modify the projectors, and achieved a brighter output, a sharper cutoff, a more colorful cutoff, and a faint rainbow effect just above it all. The pictures do not do themselves justice, as if you were to see them in person, the blue that you see above the cutoff has some very deep purple that in person looks very amazing.

So with that, I will leave you all with some pics to enjoy.

HID kits are for people who want bright colored lights and no usable output on the road, but with a kit you only get one color, but with a projector you get a bright WHITE output on the road, and when bouncing in a persons mirror or to oncoming drivers, they see different colors of the spectrum!

Output and cutoff pics, projector was in headlamp sitting a couple feet off of the floor and about 25 feet from the wall, I did this low as to not wake the neighbors, but it will not change much once sitting higher and mounted on the car.

Also I know that there was a member of the forum that imported the stock HIDs off of the Tiida, and when I asked him to snap some pics of output, this is what I meant, as I would like to compare the output, because I am sure it is not as bright, as sharp, and as cool as mine!

The 94 Sidekick.

A really quick PS, didn't even have time to blend everything and color it all the same color, but eventually it will look something similar to this.

I know that this is not the Versa, but a lot of you guys are very nice people, and a lot of others were interested in my project. So please let me know what you think, and as I get further into the project, I am sure I will have questions to opinions as to what I should do, and even though it is not a Versa, I hope that I am still welcome and that I am still able to get opinions from a great community of people!

Cheers guys & gals!

Are angley eyes the ring of lights that stays on after you turned the car off ? I've seen this on a BMW and didn't know what it was. I thought the guy left his lights on.

yes they are, but they do not normally stay on after you turn off the car, they usually are on and off with your park lights.

OK, swear to god this thread wasn't here yesterday when you posted it. That's weird.

Anyway.. I think that will give a very nice updated look to the front of the Kick if you can pull it off.

o0o it will be done, I was going to be doing the conversion myself, but after yesterday going to my homies homies body shop and seeing the rolls royce phantom front end conversion he did on a 300C, I think I am going to let him handle everything, and get it repainted. I just dont know what color!

I $41t you not, I was thinking about painting it a pink color, due to the fact my homie said that he would pay for everything if I paint it pink, so if I was going to do that (which I seriously doubt I will) then I would make sure it is an expensive @$$ good looking paint!

Kimber, wait until you see the final product, I am probably going to get it painted a blue similar to the way the G35 sedans came a couple years ago, and the Cadillac Escalades, a brighter, candy like color blue.

Question though, do you guys think I should keep the housing the chrome, or paint it black?

Black.

I've had enough "chrome" in this lifetime from looking at all those ghetto altezzas all over the road.

ok well I was finally able to do a test fit ON the Sidekick, although the lights themselves are still not complete, I still have a few things to do to them, like upgrade the angel eye POS 3 mm LEDs they have for some HIGH EFFICIENCY 5 mm's. Anywho, I took some output photos and pics to show how it looks, please do not think that they are aimed properly as they are not, I still need to make a custom mounting bracket for them before actually mounting them for real and getting everything alligned just PERFECTLY.

Here are some pics.

EDIT Vids to come later as it is late and uploading takes forever!

HAHAHA, I did that with another gurl not long ago. Anywho back on track. For wheels, I'm going to be getting some 22" dropstars DS02's. My only controversy is figuring out if I am going to shave my whole car including my spare tire rack, or be a baller @$$ mofo and leave it and put another 22" on the spare tire mount and be like that.

What you think??? HAHA Imma be rolling on DUBS finally, only thing is the rims and tires are gonna run me about 4 G's

You could do this to the V, and if you guys REALLY want to, if everyone is interested in trying to pick up a used cluster, I would be willing to experiment with it, and design a new backlighting system. It is very simple, it's just that I do not have the money to spend on a spare cluster, and no V to throw it in after. So if you guys really would like to change the cluster color, if everybody decides to pitch in for me to experiment, I'm down for that.

Update on the project, I have since done some modding and painting and a few lil things, and decided to do a QUAD HID retro, meaning 4 HID projectors instead of just 2! The light output will be insanely nice! I am going to be using some Porsche Bi-Xenon projectors, and some Fx Bi-Xenon projectors!

Here are some pics of the progress so far.

output of the Porsche which is SUPER WIDE!

The wall shot is about 50 ft. away, the wall was about 60 ft. wide, and the light was still wider than the wall!

Going to be getting custom CCFL angel eye rings made just like the ones seen on this beemer

Comparison of CCFL, LED, BMW FIBER OPTIC ANGEL RINGS, and EL WIRE

Pics of the headlights with the Porsche AND FX

HAHAHA Updates to come, let me know what you guys think!

Wow... here we are again...

One of us is excited... one of us is a teacher... and many of us are tired of fighting.

Plus, it has been stated in several threads that have been locked (or were locked and re-opened) that if you can't say something constructive in a thread that is specific to one thing... than don't.

Not that I condone/agree/or accept any of the past few exchanges. But if you don't want to see a bagillion pictures of lights shining on a wall, don't read this thread because we all know what Clipsed is doing and posted and that he is very excited to share it with us and we all know what to expect... or we should.

Can we play nice now? (and no more insulting, please!)

Sorry I didn't realize that this had become a forum where critical posts were not permitted. My first post was not rude. Guess I forgot to add the LOL after it which seems to make everything ok. I thought I was allowed to look at any thread I wanted and post responses to that thread. This IS a "discussion" board after all. I made no personal attack nor intended any ill will. I was merely commenting on what seemed to me to be a large amount of bandwidth used for pictures which showed the same thing. As I said in a post someone felt fit to delete, I appreciate clipsed's contribution to this board and his enthusiasm for his projects. Even if I still dont get it.
