If a leaf or pine needles are stuck in the blower, a lot of times they'll be most noticeable when the blower spins up and much less noticeable when it reaches speed. Bad nose bearings can do the same thing, letting the cage contact the housing until the speed comes up. Either way, you probably need to clean out the blower cavity and inspect the cage and motor.
