I just installed my new CS V2 short shifter today on my S13 and i gotta say im very pleased. The shifts are very tight and solid. The throws feel like they are reduced by atleast 50%. Only issues is that it vibrates and makes a rattle noise kinda like the B&M shifter and it was a pain in the *** getting to the 2 front bolts and removing the stock shifter plate. Oh by the way i installed an AMS "hammer" shift knob as well. So far i love this combination.

i love it. shifts are solid with that sexy notch feelin. im use to the rattle noise which was slightly reduced by my "hammer" knob. im also use to the reduced throws because before i was missing and grindin gears when i drive hard not im much better with it. i would reccomend this for someone on a budget like me.

Again my set up is....CS v2 shifterAMS hammer knobel cheapo clutch just put in 2 months agomobil1 syn gear oil 75w-80 i think ( sux in freezin cold temps lol)

ditto dude. Royal purple gear oil also is a little iffy in the cold. Every morning right now I have to take the first few shifts real easy.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's a GL-5 oil; gonna eat your brass synchros!!!!

synthetic oil is a good step in that temp range. but get a GL-4 rated oil

like this one:

i've made my local advance auto parts store pre-order a few quarts for me & have it sent directly to their store so i don't pay shipping

according to the service manual we have at work gl-4 or 5 forgot which one is equivalant to what i used. plus its what we use on customer cars who ask or are required to run syn fluid. i have no internal problems with the transmission nor has anyone else cuz its pretty much the same stuff

Well its been 11 months of driving with the shifter and it still feels tight and precise. As for the vibration i havent noticed it as much.

I highly recommend this shifter for the budget builder.

Bringing back an old post but it's all good. Just wondering if the shifter is still holding up well. I was split between this one and a b&m but if this one is holding up just as well still then I'll probably go with this one.
