Hi fellow members,

I finally added a chrome ring accent to my 08 M35s fog light. The luxury version comes with it but the sport version does not. I thought it looks better with the added chrome, what do you think?

Here's the before pic.

If you keep the top grille chrome, yes, it does look better. Good stuff!

The rings are original parts for the 08-09 M35/45 luxury models. I got them from infinitipartsusa.com for around $16/each. They came with tabs on the back which I removed because the sports model did not come with holes to push them in and I did not want to risk drilling holes in wrong spots. I attached them using high strength plastic glue I purchased from Lowe's.

If you go to their website click front bumper then bumper and components. After that click bumper cover then view illustration for the non sport package. Click number 19, that will give you both left and right trim rings then you can order them. Here are the part number in case Right-62256-E572C or 090723B4. For the left it's 62257-EJ72C or 090710B4.

I am not sure if it will fit 06-07 model though???

They should be the same fog lights i believe. The chrome rings should work.

The car looks better without the chrome rings. They give it a bug-eyed look.

How about just spray painting the existing ring chrome? Does anyone know if that ring comes out easily?

I dont think you have to worry about it, pangpang77, since your new bumper has the chrome rings already. But for those who care, you can always take it out and chrome it out...

They were a bit tricky to remove.. gotta be really carefull not to break the clips that holds the fog light mount.. where can you take them to do the chrome job on them?

How do you remove the light mount, just pull it out?

I was thinking just:

Couldn't that work?

Hi Pangpang77,I've tried similar chrome sprays on a previous car on a plastic grill. They really don't work too well, especially when applied to something on the front of the car. The chrome spray chips easily and depending upon the plastic (rough or smooth), the spray can look inconsistent even with the most meticulous application techniques. If there is a way to modify the 08 chrome ring somehow, that seems like it would last longer and look better. Plus, it may be something that could be reversed if it didn't look good (if you know what i mean).

No, dont do it, Pang...Just take it to a chrome shop nearby and have them chromed. Or brake off the tabs from the 08 and glue the 08's.
