i know this posting is old but the altima speakers just need a good head unit or equalizer/crossover. that way you can cut off all htz for bass off the the actual door speakers and tweeter come with the newer altimas. i have a 2002 altima all stock door speakers and tweeters. It has a pioneer deck, double din and the indoor play no basswhat so ever and there is no rattling as appose to with out it where it would rattle with the bass but thats why there are subs :) i happen to have two 15"s

@blood 1 you cant just put a sock ive taken my door apart to get to the speaker and its the actual speaker so no sock would work unless you wrap the speaker then u get a muffled sound

First I thought it was the tail light, then I thought maybe the speaker was busted. I took it in and it turned out that one speaker was busted......but when I drove it home I still heard the rattle....after two more times of taking it back to be looked at (all the service guys confirmed the rattle), they said there was nothing that could be done.

I'm p.o.'ed cause I paid extra for "premium sound" and now i'm told that I basically need to leave my bass at 0, and can't turn it above 17 depending on the "type of music" I listen to!!

Anyways, I really wanted to try your sock think since you said it worked.....can you post a picture of how you placed them? I really really appreciate it!!

obviously its premium sound lol there stock speakers even with after market it would rattle because the speakers are not made for that much bass subs are so just be lucky you dont have ford speakers made of card board

for the rattling, you should apply dynamat extreme or some other sound deadening material. Sounds like you should put some behind and around the speakers in the doors. You should definitely put some under the rear deck and in the trunk, trunk lid as well.

well originally it was just one speaker when its stock but yea it wouldnt be smart to get dynamat for just stock speakers but yea i just put dynmat for my subs in the trunk area but thats all i needed now it sound soo good:) the deck made a huge difference

My rear driver side 6x9 speaker just blew today (thanks to the girlfiend lol) and I was just wondering if I should just replace the speaker with the factory one or buy another company 6x9? I have the bose system no nav.

i would go aftermarket no question myself.. bose is considered highly overrated in the audiophile world which i agree with as well..
use this as an excuse to get some nice speakers for your ride!! :dblthumb:
