I'm going through my chassis wiring and getting rid of any unused and uneeded wires, but am hesitant to get rid of and wires dealing with the motor, hopefully you guys can help me. What wires do I NEED on the chassis harness to get an S13 with a redtop/manual to operate correctly? I'm not worried about emissions, instruments, or luxuries like A/C, just the wires to work and run.

Looking at a wiring FAQ such as this-http://www.frsport.com/sr20det....html

It appears the only wires on the chassis side are the ones for the instrument panel, which I'm not even using, but I'm still weary of removing wires I may need.

if you're weary of removing wires, then don't do it. In the chassis, there are very few wires that don't do anything. Every wire has a purpose, whether it drives a relay, or turns a bulb on.

If you're hell bent on removing wires, I suggest you do yourself a favor and download a service manual. If you try to go in and cut stuff out without one, you might as well go ahead and sawzall your car in half.

I've got a service manual and have been using it to remove wires.

Things like defrost, auto seat belts, auto transmission, power locks/windows/mirrors, sunroof, A/C, retractable headlamps...none of that stuff is on my car, or won't be reinstalled, so everything needed to make them work, the wires, relays, etc., can be removed without harm. I just want to make triple sure that none of these wires will prevent the motor from running. The fewer wires you've got on a track car, the better. I don't want to get a short or have a problem and have to go surfing through a huge wad of wires to try to figure the problem out.

SideWays-I'm kinda thinking of doing that. I'll be installing a Moroso switch panel with fuses that'll take care of major circuits, and will probably remove the stock fuse block and install an aftermarket one that's in a better place. I'll only have maybe 4 fuses left in the fuse panel anyway. I'll more then likely making a few of my own harnesses to bypass stock switches.

When will they come up with wireless cars? with wireless sensors. that would make for one clean car.
