I doubt Canucks are going to miss AC. They just roll the windows down, as it stays cool enough to do that there. :P

Finally shutdown at work is over and ive had some time to get going on the car again. Heres a few lil updates.

Fitted new piece of steel to replace the panel that was rusted.
Image
Ground it down
Image
Mudding it now.. one more layer to do then sanding
Image
Had to cut this panel out as well where the brackets were.. now itll look nice and smooth instead of the bumps where hicas use to sit.
Image
Again bondo'd this piece as well.. not quite finished
Image

My goodies finally showed up today and dropped them off at my race shop. 1mm oversized ferrea valves with supertech dual spring kit.
Image

I should get my heads back in a week or so im hoping and then i can start assembling the motor. Gonna finish the engine bay tomorrow so ill have a picture of the new paint bay. more to come.

Another lil update. decided to steer away from polished intercooler piping since its steel and it will rust. Matching the engine bay color instead

So i did a lil more prepping today.. what i researched when putting the new harness in was to wrap it up with duct tape and cover it with vaseline and jam it in the hole (sounds like a sweet porno flick), well thats all bullcrap!! this does not work until you remove this devil bracket that held the old harness in place (just cut the old harness out)
Image

impossible to get off without taking glovebox and all that crap apart so instead i took a solid heavy rod and rammed the crap out of this sucker.. finally it twisted enough that i could get a crows foot on the one bolt holding it in. Had to twist it off by fingers. Evil evil evil!! After that the harness slid right in without any wrapping or vaseline bs.

Heres a pic of the bay with harness attached now. havnt bolted it to the firewall or bay yet. gotta run the reconditioned brake lines and fuel lines first then this will almost be the last step to completing the bay.
Image

Heres just a pic of my workspace. Lucky me hey?

The heatshield needs to come off, yes. Was that bracket on the interior? I didn't remove it for mine. I used a 1/2" 3' extension and ovalized the firewall hole slightly by working it around, then taped the white connector back (facing opposite the blue connector) and was able to snake every thing in. Pushed the blue thru, then pulled from the inside.

Nice work on the rebuild! Just sharing my alternate method.

Looks awesome! Sorry if I missed it, what kind of power are you expecting?
I rip through Red Deer all the time, never stop anymore but once this beast this together we should definitely find some time to meet up, would love to check it out in person.

what's your setup, chase?
i'm trying for 450rwhp+, and that's with jwt550bb's, 2.5'' ic and ic pipings, 3'' exhausts, ferrea valves 1mm+, jwt500 cams.
i also have an auto transmission, and those tend to eat up more power.
are you shooting for 500 on regular gas?

Vulcan -> Im also running automatic for now.

avs sidemounts
2.5 megan downpipes
2.5 megan testpipes
550cc jecs injectors
jwt ecu tune
unorthodox lightweight drive pulley
a/c delete
.5mm overbore
87.5mm wiseco pistons
eagle rods
ferrea 1mm oversize valves
supertech dualsprings
ported heads
jwt sport 500 turbos
ported exhaust manifolds
ported intake manifolds
jwt single cone intake kit
sz flexplate
going to run about 20psi of boost (probably all i can get out of sport 500s)

20-psi on regular gas???? that's a recipe for knock.
the avs intercoolers and 2.5'' exhausts will be bottlenecks too, as well as the single-intake.
http://www.300zxclub.com/showpost.php?p ... stcount=16
forged internals are stronger, but knock will destroy forged pistons, the pistons will just melt or bend instead of shatter.

the link is to a post by greg dupree of specialtyz, where he says, typically, 17-psi on 93-octane, and 18-psi on 94-octane.
with your setup, i'd run 18-psi.
