The pan screws you dont put on real tight, maybe like 15ft lbs... Theyre little itty bitty bolts and that means you dont tighten to tight.

Its a pretty easy job.. Just try and remember where everything goes... WHen you go to install the new gasket on the tranny pan, it helps to put a little RTV or something on the under side to get it to stick to the pan... I didnt do that and it was hard to get it to stay on there...... Also helps if you have compressed air to blow the ATF drops on the underside of the tranny off...

Remember the longer you let it drain the lessmess you will have. prepare to have ATF in your hair..... (took me 3 shampoos to get it all out)

Dont you have to pump the remaining fluid out of the system ??I drained via the drain bolt and only got about 3 quarts out ..

You wont change all the fluid out by draining just the pan... I posted a thread in the online mechanic telling people how to do a "home brew tranny flush"

No fair !!!I had to search for it !!! lolI too have pondered the cooler theory ..

Having a few large tubs , One as a catch for the old fluid and the other as the fresh fluid res. Filled with plenty of fresh ATF fluid.running a tube from the fresh to the return line and watching the catch for fluid color change .

the problem with that (you cannot do that, did you read the thread????) is that the tranny pushes fluid, not pulls it... You cannot stick a hose in there and expect it to "suck" it up... it will only push the fluid out...

For the headlights??

it seems the obvious choice is to put in HIDs since you already have projectors... Thatd look KILLER

I got real HID Xenon on my J and it looks SICK! I bought one of those this kit off of ebay and would highly recommend anyone who wants to make their J stand out.

Also, About transmission fluid. A Neat trick to get almost all of your fluid out of the entire fluid circuit.

1. Drop Fluid & Pan. Clean bottom of pan. Run through Gears to get all fluid out.

2. Replace Filter & Reinstall pan.

3. Fill with 3 Quarts.

4. Find transmission cooler lines (two small metal lines going into radiator) I believe the one on closest to driver side is return line. unscrew it.

5. Have an assistant start the car. remove approx. 3 quarts.

6. Put 3 Fresh quarts in transmission filler pipe.

7. Start car again. and take out 3 more quarts.

8. Repeat steps 6 & 7 at least 2 times. (I do 4)

9. Put cooler line back in. install some Sealant on threads to be safe.
