Its not as easy as you may think to make that carbon fiber piece that you are thinking of making. Best of luck with it tho and it's really cool that you guys are thinking up things.
The problem with removing that cloth is that there is just a rubber thing underneath it that you have to remove. The problem with removing the rubber it (you have to cut it out with an xacto knife) is that you lose that rounded edge that the piece has with the cloth. I have already done this in my s-13 with fiberglass, along with the glovebox. You have to make an sturdy (dosn't flex and is somewhat heat resistant) exact model of a smooth (cant use the stock piece as a model) piece. then once you have a perfect female mold you can make the proposed piece. Its just a pain in the *** getting that model. Once you remove the fabric there is nothing really there that you can take a mold of, just a really cheap looking, dimpled piece of furry (from the foam under the cloth and rubber) plastic. Same goes for the glove box as well. It is possible because I did do it succesfully but its not an easy job. I spent around 18hours in labor just making the perfect mold for the s-13 glove box! It might not really be worth your effort to be charging $50 bucks for the complete sets. I actually get a pretty good deal on composites and just the cost of the carbon fiber itself without the resin or mold making cost, release agent, tools, etc will be around $20. factor in all the other things and you might be shooting yourself in the foot. Try and make the model first, then a mold, then a piece for your car. Dont go out and buy 100 yards of carbon fiber because people on the net said that they were interested, you stand to lose a lot of money that way. Once you have your finished product and a mold to reproduce, and know your actual cost (this is alot more than just the price of the carbon fiber cloth), then ask if anyone is interested and buy materials for them if it materializes.
I hope you dont take offence to my suggestions I am jsut trying to give you some tips on how to make your panels from what i learned when i made mine. I do produce composite pieces and sell them on the net from time to time(i.e. s-13 fixed projector headlight), and I have learned a little bit from my experience with it. Just trying to give you some tips to avoid some costly mistakes.
