Just an FYI the reason you'd buy a full carbon door or doors would be to balance your car for events such as xcross/ drifting comp's or even drag race.....besides having a front and rear balance as you go thru turns and apex's the center of gravity changes and the weight you have on each tire becomes an issue...depending on control of ur vehicle and ur speed coming out of a turn....and it adds a little originality....

those carbon inserts sound cool though, get a sample and im sure plenty would buy it....I know I would.

yea i kno what the cf doors do im just saying they prolly cost over 1000 when my cf inserts have nothing to do with weight savings/balancing. theyre only for adding a little style to the interior. as for S14/13 thats one reason i was asking for intrest to see if i should also make S13 ones considering i was onlt going to make them for my S14. dont expect reasults/pics for another 2-3 weeks or so cause i wont be home next week and need some time to test around with the cf and molds. i think i may just start off doing S14 inserts and if everything turns out good ill continue on to S13 inserts.does anyone kno which type of mold is better when it comes to female/male type molds? i was thinking female style

Dude if you are planning on making these pieces for people then you will want to do your homework first. Once again I think its really cool that you are taking initiative and doing this but make sure you know what you are doing before you start. The female/ male mold question is a little unnerving, if you have even the slightest experience of working with composties this should not even cross your mind. I would really suggest that you read a few books on composite construction before you attempt this. There is a great website called http://www.fiberglast.com, where you can buy a plethora of books that will better educate you on composite construction, and they also carry every composite material you could ever dream of (be warned they are quite expensive.) Trust me on this the difference between the guy that goes out and spends $500 and destroys 4 molds before he gets one decent piece, and the guy that goes out and spends $30 on a perfect mold his first time is knowledge. I have met TONS of guys that have wasted tons of money on materials, time, etc. and they all come to me with questions of how they can should make their molds after they fail the first 5 times. When I ask them where they learned their techique or mold theory they are always like - "whats that?" or better yet " this guy i know". Books are your best friend when working with composites and are essential for proper theory. Think of books as driving school - Carbon Fiber is a Ferrari, without proper training you might be able to make it move but you won't get nearly all you can out of it. Once again best of luck to you and I hope it works out.If you have any other questions you can email me at [email protected]

if you just wanna have ghey CF door inserts.. go buy a roll of adhesive CF looking paper.

it'll look the same as true CF, perform the same, and cost a fraction of real cf... if you're gonna add rice to the car.. might as well save money.
