Has anyone replaced the black around all the buttons on the center stack. I test drove a few cars that this area was trashed and wore off in spots. The one I ended up buying has a re raised spots by the wheel. Looks like the previous owner probably had a ring on there right hand and rested it in this area.

There are few folks that have wrapped that part of the console with vinyl/other stuff.
Why not just buy a new center stack off Fleabay...saw a couple a few days ago for under $100.
I have a small chip in mine that I placed a little black paint on, but still noticeable.
The plastic on some of the surfaces that Nissan used is not so great. eg. the Homelink buttons on the rear view mirror are starting to wear off too!!

Didn't realize this was a common part on ebay.

What are good search words for it?

I'll do you one better, here are some links to one's being sold (although you don't state what model year you have)
lots of 06-07 units, just look up "Infiniti M AC control":

You didn't state if you had navigation or not....one for navigation:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/06-07-Infiniti- ... 6016.l4276

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-Infiniti-M ... 6016.l4276

One without navigation:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/06-Infiniti-M35 ... 6016.l4276

haven't seen any '09 and up center controls, oughta check salvage yards, etc.

Check out this thread to see other members who have wrapped their interior parts (if you're a little bit handy and have the time, this may be the way to go, because you get the interior to look the way you want it, except for OEM:

interior-dash-mods-t567191.html?hilit=vinyl wrap interior

good luck,

Craig

Thanks for the links.
Will have to look into removing it first to see if it's worth the hassle.

Easy to remove. Start at the cup holders which pull right out then work your way up. Maybe an hour long job.
