Ok so I know that to use carbon fiber on most things you would need to use a mold and then set the fiber in some kind of resin, but i was thinking... maybe I could use carbon for other things aka a shift boot but i dont want it to be stiff obviously. Is there any way to use carbon to make something like this?

I actually had a carbon fabric shift boot in my S14.

It looked really cool for a couple weeks, but then the fibers began to pull apart, and the whole thing started fuzzing. Resin is what gives carbon fiber its strength. Without it, its just a weave of super tiny graphite hair.

Plus it was impossible to clean.

yeah I was thinking that would happen without the resin. but Ive found a lot of places that sell carbon but usually its mixed with another material in the weave as well. ie kevlar or some sort of cloth

Kevlar is a fiber just like carbon. Its woven in to change the properties of the material. I have mine sewn to a tight weave cloth backer, and its still shredded.

like the other guys said carbon fiber cloth alone with fray really easy. you can however byu this material made to look like cabon fiber meant to wrap interior panels in like some bmws. it actually looks quite good. and its real easy to wrap just like any other cloth. check it out.

I think that the m3 is cool but thats like a wrap, i would rather be making something like an armrest or the center console, and suggestions on that?

what do you mean making something for the glovebox and center console? like are you just planning on covering it? if so i think the 3m stuff would work pretty good. or the nuffy. if your doing something like a shift boot id use the nuffy because its not sticky on one side.

yeah like to door for the glovebox and the top to the arm rest i think it would be sick to have real carbon fiber parts through out the car and yeah that 3m would be sick to have a shift boot made out of

i plan on getting some carbon fiber cloth and resin and messing around with a few things. should be pretty fun. for your purposes i would either neffy or the 3m would work. only thing i dont like about them is they arent real cheap. the real carbon fiber cloth is almost cheaper i believe. BUT, it wont work in your case unless you want to put resin over it.
