Car supports for driveway

Have been told can't use axle stands to support a 240sx....instead of using spare rims/tires, any suggestions on what else is good to use? And if so, where under the car are the best areas to use for support?

jack stands are perfectly fine for supporting a 240, idk who and why told you otherwise. as far as where to place said stands, here's a link to a an old nico thread, complete with diagram

Based on how rusty most of them are by now, that might be true.

Yeah I've always just jacked by the cross member and rear diff. I've put jack stands where it says to in the picture.

I used to jack from the underside of the control arm connection point. I'm sure this isn't recommended...
