The first smell test was with the car cold, I warmed it up and smelled again. It still smells rich coupled with smoke. While it was warming up there was a drip, but when it warmed up it ceased. Also a ticking noise in the exhaust in the middle of the car.

I replaced #2, 3, 4, 5, 6. When I take out the plugs, what will I be looking for? I am assuming it will be covered in gas.

Wet with gas yes, also if it's been run long enough there'll be some black carbon buildup. Pretty much look for any plug that doesn't look like the others. If they all look different, you're really in trouble. Well, you did the right thing with the injectors and plenum job, but unfortunately, if one's leaking, 80% chance it's under the plenum. Qdog has had success replacing an injector under the plenum without completely removing it.

At least it sounds like we're making progress... If I remember correctly I always put the o-rings on the injector, and then inserted them into the rail. I lubed them with vasoline, but di-electric grease might be a better choice. I've even heard of some people using KY jelly - but I'm sure if my girlfriend ever went into the garage and saw me looking under the hood of the car with a tube of KY jelly in my hand it would be all over! :D

He's probably the one that mentioned using di-electric grease instead.

The plugs are out.... #3 smells like gas. It has some on it too, not much but enough to coat it. None of the other plugs had any hint of gasoline.

Spark plugs #1, 2, and 5 had some carbon on them.

The rest of the plugs looked good, a little oily, but all in all they looked o.k../.

If these plugs were put into a smell line up, and someone was smelling for gas, the one pulled from the #3 slot would be thrown in jail.

The carbon on the #2 plug seemed a bit much for only having run the car for a combined 2 hours. But I don't know.

So it is plenum time, isn't it? I don't mind really, just want to get yalls opinion before I start .

Those puppies are brand new though. So whatever has happened to them, happened in the past couple days, with the same symptons persisting... err something.

At least #3 is the best candidate for doing one with the plenum on. Search Qdog's posts in this forum...he was able to do it. Unbolt plenum, lift, R&R injector. Order new orings from Joe or local dealer just to be safe. Heck, consider doing #2 as well.

Here is a pic of the plugs. Sorry I haven't figured out how to put them in the actual thread yet. #1, 7, 8 are all with older injectors, all the other ones are new.
