Well IMHO, the Q45A is the 'high water mark' thus far for suspension on production automobiles. My 2 Q45a's (92,94) each ride great -94 is more buttery -and the active improvement is so well integrated yo u don't notice it--UNTIL you drive the identical crappy bounding road in another car and bounce off the roof.

I also have a sl-600 with OZ racing wheels (AMG badge) and high performance tires--the car has MBZ's most advanced suspension system ever on a 'production car--1000+/-/yr?)-the beast cost over $125K in 1994!--and it manages to make potholes and bumps seem to disappear real well, but undulating roads toss you around while the Qa's serenly glide over them. Cornering forces with the SL and those real wide sticky low profile tires are awesome, with little body roll. But for all around--can't hold a candle to the Qa's

First of all I would like to say this is a phenomanol site with a weatlh of knowledge and resources. My reason for being here is a 91 Q45A I bought knowing absolutely nothing of the issues associated with the car. I am now wondering whether or not a conversion of the active suspension system is feasible from a reliability and safety perspective. I do not live in Texas and am not mechanically inclined as I once was. Of course the dealer qoute is $6000.00 to repair the system which is in need of everything. Is there a Florida equivalent to Keith that anyone is aware of?

Before anything else, including starting your car, you must check your chain guides.

texasoil doesn't do the work, he just supplies some of the parts for installation.

Look for T-3 in Atlanta.
