In terms of complaints on the G, i can't really give you an answer on that, because I have yet to receive mine from the dealer, however as an individual who just went through the buying process, looking at all three mentioned cars (BMW, G35, and the Lexus IS) along with several others, and just making my decision, i thought i would share it with you.

None of these cars are bad cars, however a few things stood out with me and made the decision very easy. The lexus is a beautiful car. I personally think the interior was done just a little nicer; finer leather, standard wood, etc.., the 250 is comparable in price, and no where near the G in performance statistics. Also, the styling on the lexus, while nice, i felt had a more feminine look to it, which made spending the extra for the 350 was not worth it. In my opinion the interior on the Infiniti is very nicely done.

Then there is the BMW, even as a new Infiniti owner, you won't hear me say a bad word about the BMW. I was unfortunate enough to inherit my dad's car prematurely, its an '01 740il, a car about which there can be no complaints. And when it came to the three series vs the G it really came down to one thing for me, to match the G's engine power, you would have to buy the new 335i, which runs about $8,000 more. If i had it, honestly I'd spend it, but i don't and the G is as nice as the lexus interior, with the performance of a BMW under the hood and in its beautiful driving feel, and it has a styling and price that is genuinely unbeatable.

Plus even in the day of I Pods, a built in hard drive for music is a pretty pretty cool little extra. And with a black interior, that washi aluminum trim and the illuminated gauges look pretty slick

You could prolly take that 5k of that 8k extra you would have spent on the BMW...throw it into the G, and the G's performance would outshine the Beemer. Then take the 3k left over and buy the wife something nice that will pay for itself 10 times over

Hey Guys,

I'm actually an employee of the US News Rankings and Reviews website(as well as a proud Nissan owner). I'd be curious to know if the site helped out your search. I'd also be curious to hear the thoughts of those of you that disagree with the rankings.

If you're trying to get the most for your money... look no further than a G35. My loaded G35 which has beaten my brothers IS350 in a race came with many more bells & Whistles than his basic IS350 and for about 8-10K less than his car...

No headroom or legroom in the back of the IS350...

Do a little more comparison shopping, but IMO I would go for the G Everytime!
Ask your brother if he wants to race me at Speedworld Nov 3rd or Nov 11th!

PLEASE

He lives in Indy! Trust me, he and I have been comparing each others cars since we bought them... i'd love to run against him, but I have to say that his may be a little quicker... I have the exact same set up as you with the Fujita intake, but he's kind of decked out on the IS350... he has the Fujita Cold Air Intake, Strut Tower Braces, 19" Rims and Tanabe Exhaust... he's pumping out a few more ponies than we are, but he also spent a heluva lot more for his lexus... I'm happy with the G! I may come out and run with you next month... Interesting to see the track times...

There are two things that pissed me off on my 06 G35

1- No caller ID on the dashboard on incoming calls (Bluetooth). The Acura TL has this feature.

2- The factory Sirius Radio does not scroll Title, artist and channel name as does my much cheaper portable sportster model.

I drove the IS250 and I found the G35 to be much more comfortable and far superior.

Take your time making up your mind. On New Years Eve my G35 will be two years old. You can get a good deal if you are ready to buy on either Christmas or New Years Eve.
