Apparently recently the elgistlature has passed a bill that states the following:

1) Nitrous Oxide is now going to be a banned substance in cars period.

2) People cought street racing immediatly have their car impounded for 48 hours...

3)Fines are undecided (but probably enough to buy another car with)

4) Racing is now going to be charged higher than a misdermeanor.. i believe...

Anyways the point is that people have ruined driving for everyone else... all the morons who have crashed and killed other people because they are stupid have now boxed the rest of us in... thank you all so very much... i hope you all rot in hell...

1) Its because you were all using medical grade to get high.

2) It interferes with the legal form of ice dragging that is allowed.

3) Because you're socialists, they aren't sure if YOU should have to pay the fine, or if EVERYONE should have to pay the fine.

4) Well, your footraces were tiring the mounties out while they tried to "pull you over." Something had to be done to protect the mounties.

: )

This legislation sounds like it's being enacted at the provincial level. There is a huge problem with a form of racing that's running rampant in Vancouver. Kids (mostly rich brats from Hong Kong) get together with heavy duty sports cars (BMWs, Benz, etc.). They'll hide a cash prize of $1000 or so across town and the first car there gets the cash. It is a severe problem with all kinds of innocent people getting killed as these brats race at 130KM/h+ down side streets and such. The cops have been almost powerless to stop them.

BTW, there is no such thing as the term "misdomeaner" in Canadian law. They are probably elevating the crimes to "Criminal Code" offences.

BTW, Socialism has some advantages: National health care (even with its problems is still better than the for profit system in the US), higher literacy rates, much higher quality of life (according to the UN) than the US, much better voter turn out, higher life expectancy and a much lower per capita murder rate. Maybe this explains why there aren't thousands illegally sneaking into the US from Canada. The economy of scale in the US is its major draw for illegal and legal immigrants alike. Otherwise, if all things were equal, most would as soon stay home.

The term misdermeanor was used a more of a descriptive term for the americans... most dont have any idea what the hell i was talking about if i said criminal code... its just a reference...

hey, look on the bright side. De-criminalization of marijuanan is upon us in the New Year. A date hasn't been chosen yet, I think the yankees and their die hard mottoe of "the war against drugs" is having some influence on our government (doesn't it always!!) AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH...........

Street racing is stupid, and the culprits should pay dearly when it comes to punishment. I'm glad they have finally imposed this sort of law, we don't need high school babies doing their vin deisel impression on the streets, and who the **** needs nawz for the streets anyway?

c'mon Bob, go to the track and take out your need for speed, keep the streets safe for the innocent..............

Personally I thin our government is a bunch a blithering idiots... yea thats what we need... more people driving around completely baked.... how is that less dangerous than street racing? Its less minor then drinking and driving... if some punk wants to test me on the street then im gonna beat his *** and not ask him to the track, because he wont go... now all the ****in industrial areas are going to be crawling with popo trying to bust people...

I wonder why there aren't any jamaican genuises out there?

Maybe because by the age of 10 they have killed all the brain cells in their head from smoking weed... i mean i did it enuff back in 9, 10, and 11 then i stopped because it's a waste of money, and i stopped concentrating... it was litereally making me more stupid.... Marijuana for health reasons is fine... but this **** is retarded....

I guess on the upside... while people are smoking their lives away i'll be making huge dough as an automotive engineer...

48hrs? I'm moving to Canada, here in San Diego, you get a thirty day hold. MANDATORY! I'm not sure if it's been passed yet, but the city council wants to make it a crime to even be AT the races, even for spectators.

Wonder why some of the greatest musicians have come out of Jamaica? Alot more people smoke weed than you think Bob, some are just more open about speaking of it.

Call me what you like, geeks, I'll post up some pics of my work, and you might see me in a whole new light.

Ok Paul here it is...

Reggae unfortunately is not considered musical genuis... classical is however... its true there are no jamaican genuises, and if you can prove ME wrong i'll take it back... jst because bob marley came out of jamaica doesn't mean anything... how did he die again? i forget...

Street racing is for those who cant wait to go to the track... street racing is spur of the moment type deal... like i said before im not talking crowded city streets im talking industrial... everyone indulges in a little speed contest here and there... just because YOU think that it's in every way wrong doesn't mean your right... street racing isn't a black and white topic... its a shade of grey... there are exceptions to the rules....

Albert Einstein is a genuis, he never smoked weed, so is Newton, so is Mozart, so is edison... i have plenty of friends who's marks have droppped to failing level after doing this stuff for a couple years....

Are you telling me you want people driving when there baked?

If you are then i hope you realize that it will be 100 times more dangerous than if people were street racing everywhere.. :)

Now give me my thread back...

Yeah.... and we all know how hard the Nazis were in regard to motor vehicle codes and enforcement. That was their second priority right below erasing an entire race of humans.:rolleyes

I was merely responding to an uninformed comment posted earlier on this thread. If you care to refute the facts I mentioned, go ahead. I dare you. However, I know you won't because these facts pertaining to some of the basic differences between US vs Canadian society cannot be refuted by any research you won't perform. And by the way, Washington didn't chop down the cherry tree either. That and many other myths regarding the good ole US of A are just that: myths.

Ooh, a little testy aren't we?!! LIke I said, if you want to represent it as fact, simply back it up with something.

It has more to do with the fact that this argument is ridiculous and I don't care enough about it to look up numbers. I love my country too, but please take your national pride elsewhere.

But for the record... will you please point out the FACTS in the comment: "National health care (even with its problems is still better than the for profit system in the US),"

hmmm, Nope, I guess they're not in there.

Boy I'm glad I've got YOU here to clear these things up for me! To think, some other guy tried to tell me Santa didn't exist... that idiot.

Reasons to street race:

-It takes $500 to be competitive on the streets, and $10,000 to be competitive on the track. It's that simple.

-Street racing is fun. Anyone that says it isn't, has never gone with 10 friends and owned everyone there. Period. If you and 9 other rides go as a team, and don't lose a race the whole night, it is fun. No one can deny how good it feels to show up and drive the 10 best cars there. It's like playing a huge game of counter-strike, and your clan is the best players in the server.

-Running from a police helicopter is a riot. The adrenaline is ten times better than cocaine or heroine. Do you remember the thril of playing "tag" as a kid? Well it's like that again, just alot better because of the high stakes.

-Seeing other people fight is sweet. Ever see sore losers go at it? They destroy eachother, and the winner smashes the other fellas car. It's hilarious to see. Kind of like a boxing match, only alot better.

I haven't street raced at our local scene for about a year, and I'll never go back. Too big of a risk, too many sh*tty cars show up, not enough of a challenge, and too many losers in general. But those are the reasons I used to go. And they're pretty good reasons.

Nope, I'm pretty serious.Like I said, I stopped doing it around the same time I joined the original 240sx.com boards, but sometimes I miss going to our races. There just isn't any sense in doing it nowadays. The mods on my car are too expensive to lose, and the people aren't worth my time.

The only reason I posted it is because Paul asked.

I knew you couldn't or wouldn't rise to the challenge. Go ahead refute my facts. I double dog dare you. Present your contrary information. Since you can't back up your refutation of my statements, I guess they will have to stand as the facts they are. Check it out or are you a:chicken ?

BTW, The facts I stated have nothing to do with nationalism. They are simply facts. I'm sorry if they wound your national pride. If it makes your feel any better, the US spends a much higher percentage of its GDP on health care than Canada.;)
