Understood.... It's good to see that you've stopped. It would just be nice to hear that it is for different reasons.

Street racing is 'straight-up' lame. People that take it that seriously think they have something to prove. They act like they are living in the movies..... oh the drama.... they're soooo cool!:rolleyes

Most of the reasons you listed make sense, but the drama part is just preposterous. Wow, you've got the 10 fastest (not best) cars out of a bunch of losers.... that's something to be proud of.

As for the excitement, I can see your point. The times that I engauged in the stupidity, it was the only redeeming aspect of the entire situation. But when I think about what COULD have happened, I admonish myself for ever being involved.

Yup... I guess I'm chicken, Vimy. You win.....

They are simply facts. I'm sorry if they wound your national pride.

Wow, you're good. :rolleyes

Paint me wounded.;)

BTW... your argument tactics are boring. At least TRY to come up with something new.... instead of the 'ah find something to prove me wrong..... uh....uh... I dare you'!

Man, you are no fun at all.

Haha, you're 100% right MaineImport!Everyone likes to "engage in stupidity" once in a while, because those things can be fun. The smart thing is knowing when to stop, and acknowledging what you're doing.

If you neve ngaged in stupidity... you would never have all those good bad and crazy memories... i mean if all the younger people felt the same way... there would be a differnce between a 16 year old and a 30 year old except for experience... :)

I didn't notice this before I wrote my other reply....Hmm... like I said, you've obviously never gotten your friends together and beaten everyone. Things are alot different once you leave your computer desk. I'm sure if you got raped at the races, you would care. Word gets around, and alot of people would probably snicker at how slow a$$ your car is when you drive around. It's nice to have a good rep in the city.

But once again, I haven't been to organized street races in over a year, so...

Wow, where to begin...

Ninja, is your car swapped, does it have a lot of mods? Because if not, Canada simply has some lame *** street races. Down by me you wouldn't even want to go because you'd get your *** handed to you so much. Like Maine said, beating a bunch of other crappy cars is nothing to write home about. Canada must be fun if it takes 500 bucks to be competitive on the streets, here that will just get you laughed at.

VimyJ, you didn't really post any great facts to rebutt. Nothing was sited. So here are a couple of facts. Canada sucks, socialism is boring. Being a world power is better than have the lowest per capita rate of murder. Blah Blah Blah, no American really cares about your comments on Canada and how it is better, just like no one would care if I glamorized US politics. GOVERNMENT IS BORING, they all basically get nothing done...

Freak, you'd be suprised how many people smoke bud. You keep pushing this "driving while high" thing...Do they let you drive drunk in Canada? Because I know here they don't. If Marijuana was legalized, it would still be considered a drug, like alcohol. You would be arrested for driving under the influence, like other countries where marijuana is legalized, or is a generally accepted way of life. Also a lot less people in Jamiaca smoke weed than you think. Its mostly Rastafarians. My grandmother's nurse is straight off the boat, I've asked her many questions about Jamaican life, government, society, ect. And just so you know Bob Marley died of treatable cancer, one theory is that he was poisoned by the CIA, which is actually kind of believable, I've read extensively about it. Oh yeah, and Bob Marley IS a genious, and he smoked. There are many smart people who grew/smoked marijuana (or other drugs), so don't even try to start that arguement.

My comment did sound too personal, I didn't mean it that way and I apologize. I was trying to make a generalized comment and used your story as an example.

You're right, I have never collectd any of my friends together in a manner such as that. I'm 26 years old. I'm secure enough in myself to not need the gratification gained by the admiration of peers that are impressed with how much money I can spend to make my car faster. I left that juvenile nonsense behind in high school..... it appears you have as well. Also, it is irrelevant in my present situation, as most of my friends don't drive cars for speed, hobby, status, or anything outside of getting them to their jobs.

The only racing I take part in is completely legitimate and sanctioned. New England Hill Climb org. There is no big cash prizes, but there is always trophies and camaraderie!

Au contraire, I didn't have to rebut. I stated facts and the rebutal lacked anything even resembling facts. Being a world power is not so cool if you've been murdered which is much more likely to happen in the US than Canada. Canada isn't a superpower but it is a power that is respected in the world community. A member of the G7 no less. ("What the heck is a G7?", asks a confused Apexi240) Canada really isn't even socialist compared to most of the richest industrialized nations. You state that goverment is boring and gets nothing done. How typical. A US citizen boasting about being a "world power" and bragging about the street racing in the US and not having a clue as to the ignorance such a statement displays. How do you think the US became a world power and who built the very roads you abuse? Goverments. Who inspects the foods you eat? Who makes sure that a gallon of gas is actually a gallon? Who responds to your street racing accidents? Who maintains the roads that the US would be crippled without? Who sends out the tornado warnings? It just happens, right? C'mon, dude, think about some stuff for awhile. Civilizations just don't appear out of thin air.

That sad fact is that most Americans don't really care about anything that goes on outside their own county (that's county not countRy). 11% of Americans couldn't even find the US on a map of the world and only slightly over 50% even know where Afghanistan is. The term "ignorant American" isn't something people made up just to piss off Americans. With apologies to the many intelligent and informed US citizens I know, it is basically true on a national level. Sad but true. :( It's time someone put the coffee on in this country so that its citizens might be able to start smelling it. Don't get me wrong. I very much appreciate the US. Canada and the US are damn lucky to have each other as neighbors. But really, there is a huge amount of ignorance in the US and it's not a healthy situation.

Ah..ha....ha,ha...ha....Please, preach to me more about how hardcore your races are!:rolleyes What do you and your "racers" do the 1/4 mile in? Lets compare you and your crew against me and mine before you talk. Until your "crappy cars" break into 12's on street tyres and pump gas, I think you should shut up. Really. Running your mouth like this makes you pretty ignorant. You don't even know what we drive, do you? I'm willing to bet my friends 88 civic hatch will wipe it's a$$ with you, or anyone from your crew. And yes, I do have quite a bit of mods.

Ok now before everyone starts arguing about each others government and each others racing competitions/fun and excitment on a wekend... remember this post was soley to bash a stupid new bill.... some will argue cracking down on street racing is good other do not like it....

lets get one thing straight

I am angry because just as i begin to get into this whole thing they start cracking down mean ing i wont beable to experience it fully, as some of the older preachers already have.... i feel as though im being robbed of some good times... now dont get me wrong its not like i would go racing on crowded streets, but i do race in remote industrial areas... but the punishment and treatment are the same.... i dont beleive this bill should be so black and white, but more a shade of grey, depending on the area.... im angry because it's not fair... but life isn't fair i know... but i needed to vent... not start a war between countries... common Vimy and Maine... you guys are more mature than me you should know better... the country battle never goes anywhere.... because were both to proud... :)

Actually I was talking about you, not your crew. "My crew is fast...blah blah blah, 12 seconds on street tires". Does that 12 second time slip belong to you? I don't care about your crew or what they drive. What do the "racers" do in the 1/4 mi? Do you mean people I know, people in my town, or people that are quasi famous in my state? You'll have to be more specific because there are just too many quick cars.

Oh and you want to talk about my "crew"? Oh wait, I don't have one, because crews, clubs, ect are STUPID. I despise most car clubs. I have friends with quick cars, and they are just that, my friends. We hang out, we used to go to races together, we go to events together, we drink together....but we are no gay a*s crew. I guess its a good thing your "crew" can represent for you. And actually the races down by me used to be really hardcore...cars beating bikes, Zs beating GNs, V8 stangs, ect. There even used to be a quad that killed cars and bikes. You talk about my ignorance, yet you say it takes 500 bucks to be competitive on the streets, then talk about your "crew member" who runs 12 on street tires. Did he get into 12s with only 500 bucks? Or do your 500 bucks in mods make you competitive against him? Or that 88 Civic you mentioned? Running your mouth make YOU pretty ignorant.

Vimyj, you are right, let me just clarify myself (or backpeddal, whichever you like). Government doesn't get anything important accomplished. They are building two new highways in my area, yet they can't afford to keep 5 extra security guards at the high school in my town. The US is hands-down the richest country in the world, yet our own people do not have adequate healthcare. There are children that are homeless, and kids that grow up and can't even speak English. Our budget surplus last year was spent to go to war with Afghanistan, it could have been better spent on DOZENS of other things. The statement about being a "world power" was me being sarcastic, and representing "facts". Do you honestly think I believe being a world power is a good thing? We are vehemently hated by so many other cultures and countries its unbelievable. I've traveled, not much, outside of the US, and to watch American tourists in other countries is just saddening. To think these ignorant, disrespectful people are representing our country is just scary. I am well aware, and pretty much in agreement with everything you stated Vimy, my point was more that attempting to make an arguement is stupid.

Hey man, sorry you don't have any friends. Tough luck.

V8 stangs, ect. There even used to be a quad that killed cars and bikes.

These races sound like hill-billy races... do you live in a poverty ridden southern state?

You talk about my ignorance, yet you say it takes 500 bucks to be competitive on the streets, then talk about your "crew member" who runs 12 on street tires.

Most people aren't modded to his level. Most people that go have little mods, because much like you, they simply can't afford them. Don't worry though, once your Dad gets a job I'm sure things will pick up. :rolleyes

your 500 bucks in mods

Haha, yeah right.... Let me write you a list fool.

Running your mouth make YOU pretty ignorant.

Hey you started ******ing first, I'm defending myself.

Ninja, I live in a poverty-stricken town in New Jersey, that is the north, not the south (funny how Vimy was just talking about people not knowing their geography).

I made 80 in tips alone yesterday...plus I get all the free pizza/wings/ect I want, how much money did you make yesterday:rolleyes ?

My father is the Director of Special Education for my town. He's basically the guy that gets people like you carted around from school to school in those stylish short yellow busses. He makes sure you get all those useful teacher aids to help you spell your name, ect. He's had his doctorate degree for almost 10 years now, he makes 6 figures and teaches college course "for fun"....but yeah maybe one day he'll have a good job and buy me go-fast parts for my car:rolleyes

"Hey you started ******ing first, I'm defending myself."

Pretty poorly, looking toward assumtions to hurt my feelings...its not sixth grade anymore mocking my family members and calling me poor doesn't really aggravate me too much...:rolleyes

Sorry Freak what was the question? Isn't your car stock? You shouldn't have to worry too much about getting harassed. My car is lowered "past the legal limit" and no one hassles me. The town I work in pulls people over constantly for traffic violations. If you don't drive like an as*hole you won't be treated like one, so don't sweat any new laws passed.

I didn't even care if you didn't answer my question i just wanted you guys to stop arguing before a country vs country breaks out... too honest i dont care about anyones job or anyones dad's job... just because someone says something doesn't mean its tru either... everything people say on this board is speculation... it could be a lie or the whole truth so unless it's tech info don't beleive everything you guys hear or say... it's not about whether i will be hasseled... a red 2 door sports car is enough to catch the attention of most cops... but im not gonna let them stiffle my creative plans for the car... :)
