can you swap a 240sx sohc ecu with that of a stanza sohc ecu?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

so does anyone know or has anybody tried to swap the 240sx ecu with a stanza unit, not for any gain except hopping for no speed limiter(the 240sx's parts are scarce around here) that is what brings this question up.

Yes, and you want a Stanza auto ecu to remove the speed limiter. The Stanza ecu is Consult capable w/ little modification from what I read on Deviouska's site. For more info go to http://www.hybridka.com.

I am currently running a 90 Stanza manual FED ECU on my 90 240SX. The SOHC 240SX can use the 90-92 Stanza ECUs, either MT or AT. I have a consult board wired in (you only have to add 3 pins to the ECU wiring harness), and then i can connect a serial cable from the consult board to my laptop and view real time what the engine is doing.

So yes, you can use a Stanza ECU on your SOHC 240SX.

Also, the MT also has no apparent speed limiter (set in the code at 508 km/h, which is ~315 mph, a speed i seriously doubt you will ever reach), but the rev limiter is a little lower at 5125. Also, the maps are a little richer and more conservative on the timing than the 240SX, but its an AWESOME way to start tuning your ECU.

I am running a 240 auto ecu due to the fact that it was in the car when I put in the 5 speed. I didn't change it to the manual ecu I have because the auto ecu doesn't allow for a speed limiter. The last car I ran this way would accelerate past 115 mph. That is a fact that I have observed. I can only assume that putting in the Stanza auto ecu would yield the same results. Do check out the forums at hybridka ... they will answer all of your questions.

works great so far I will test my limiter's later or tomorrow. she awoke instantly but on first try to move the car acted like it wanted to stall or bog somewhat, other than that it feels a bit stronger

If you are looking for a way to remove the speed limiter and tun your ecu, I would recommend AEM's EMS. I have one for the 240sx for sale under the NICO nissan parts for sale forum. It retails for over $2,300 on AEM's website, but I am selling mine for only $900 or best offer as I am looking to sell. It is still factory sealed. Check out the dyno chart for a stock 240sx car with the AEM EMS:

Let me know if you are interested and we can see what we can do!

no thank you on that as the post said the car runs fine and there is alot cheaper methods to tune/log this ecu p.s. you paid too much for that or not, maybe thats why your letting go for so cheap.

Hi, i know this topic is kind of old, but i was hopping you could help me out.
I have a 89 240SX and i´m trying to get consult out of a stanza ecu, here´s the link, new-member-t514026.html, but i´m not getting it.
From what i have read, i need to move/relocate some pins on the ecu connector, but i´m wondering if any of you guys have pictures of your stanza ecu, and how are they wired to get consult?
Thanks

wish I could be more help, but I am currently not dealing with rom tuning, have not been since my sohc ecu killed my det, warm up timing issue...(dual cam motor on 8bit ecu)

i never got around to consult anyways, looking back its would have been easy. I am working with ms1 right now so I pretty much dumped all info pertaining to the eccs. I knew one day I wouldnt want a stock ecu . Thats why when gabe asked if I wanted to be a mod I bashfully said no thanks. ECCS is awesome ,especially for cheap guys like me. But to me it was never the be all end all.

Is the eccs site still up? best bet is to register and ask on there, be sure to have read or you will get called on it.

No, eccs.hybridka is down, for some time now. I´ve been searching for info and specially for pictures of stanza ecus with consult wired into into it, but i can´t find anything.
Maybe JNM240 can help me out with this? Thanks

There is an ECU thread in the Nissan trucks forum containing this very subject. Search 'Consult' and you should be able to find it.
