All of them have been better than the first one. They are mindless entertainment, doesn't hurt anything to watch them.scotty-2-forty wrote:So .... another Smashed & Bi-curious ... Saw the first one, decisivley passed on the rest.

May be mindless, but the first one came out when I still had my speed shop and I had to fight off the annoying little wanabe ricers with mama's allowance money after that. Seems every time these movies come out, so arises again the late night sounds of mosquito squadrons and an explosion of stupid that hits the streets around here ... monkey see, monkey do ... monkey risk lives, cuz monkey can't drive. Thank God we don't see more mimicing Silence of the Lambs or something.biggie wrote:All of them have been better than the first one. You were complaining about an increase in business and sales? And yes there are idiots who will drive crazy after watching it, but every movie has morons that try to copy it. Standing outside talking after Tokyo Drift 2 kids decided it was a good idea to take their mom's minivans + ebrake through the movie parking lot.scotty-2-forty wrote:May be mindless, but the first one came out when I still had my speed shop and I had to fight off the annoying little wanabe ricers with mama's allowance money after that. Hey, enjoy it ... just be mature about it.
Wait. If you're mature about it, I would think you'd avoid watching it in the first place.scotty-2-forty wrote:[Hey, enjoy it ... just be mature about it.

I just watched the trailer, since it was free. That stolen safe with a car scene was lifted from the Dukes of Hazzard movie.

No, not complaining about an increase in biz at all ... but that was the point ... most of what they wanted they could not afford and expected miracles from lower profiting items like intakes and exhaust alone. Fools and their money will soon be departed. Dumb kids with money can mean > profits.scotty-2-forty wrote:No, not complaining about an increase in biz at all ... but that was the point ... most of what they wanted they could not afford and expected miracles from lower profiting items like intakes and exhaust alone. The wannabies (mind you, most of whom were middle-class "from the ghetto" white boyz) were truly more of an annoyance to the big(ger)-spending more seriously performance oriented clientel we had. My shop was never set up to be a store front. I had 3 lifts and an in-shop dyno for the ones who could afford getting things done "right". Our money was in the design, install and dyno areas. Asking questions is fine, inquiring on parts is fine ... it's the attitude I speak of. These so-called "ghetto" kids would consistantly use the N-word when referring to each other and my shop partners (of whom were NOT Caucasian); and we sometimes had our own children in the office during these times ... "We" did not tolerate it. I'm telling you, it was like swatting mosquitos whilst trying to enjoy the beautiful weather.

As far as the movies go, well there will always be those with lapse of commons sense mimicing the fantasy. I personally just don't enjoy this series, it's just not my liking.
Biggie, I am refering to the temporary invasion after the first movie. The "profit" was so miniscule it didn't matter when dealing with the "wannabies". We had plenty of other low budget spenders that were more respective of our crew and shop, and would take the time to listen instead of claiming they know more than you. Sometimes you have to weed through them, especially when you've got a schedule and critical mindwork to accomplish.biggie wrote:Fools and their money will soon be departed. Bit quick to judge the 4-5 movie series by only watching the 1st one. Has been different plots, directors, actors, etc. The 1st one was by far the dumbest and purely 'ricestatic' car movie ever made. Its only use is to memorize funny one-liners from it to use on message boards.
It is judging the book by the cover. They have become much more action movies than about car sceen/street racing. Most 'fanbois' hate that now.scotty-2-forty wrote:As for judging the series, call it what you want. I still haven't even seen the first one all the way through.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Looks like THE ROCK is joining the lineup if no one has heard. I'll (along with most of you) be seeing it. Don't lie, you guys know you like these movies!![]()
No, it's being unentertained if not insulted by reading the first chapter; just makes me not want to continue reading. My choice ... and you're not gonna get me to go ... unless there's a barbeque.biggie wrote:It is judging the book by the cover. Its fine, more Jordan Brewster for the rest of us.scotty-2-forty wrote:No, it's being unentertained if not insulted by reading the first chapter; just makes me not want to continue reading. My choice ... and you're not gonna get me to go ... unless there's a barbeque.![]()

Nope, just I've seen idiots everywhere. Actually know quite a few in GA. And that's not counting the donks.Amays U G37S wrote:umadbrah?
It's dumb if you are incapable of placing the movie in their correct chronological order. Both the last movie and this new one occur before the events in Tokyo Drift.Dire91 wrote:I mean that works but isn't Paul Walker a cop in the fourth one? After running from what seems to be the government he can become a cop again, kind of dumb if you ask me.

I thought that was already in a Castrol commercial?ScorchedNX2K wrote:Looks like another movie I'll have to switch my brain off for 2 hours to watch.
Seriously...using two cars to rip a bank vault out of the wall and DRIVE ALONG THE STREET WITH IT?
