You are very wrong my friend. The 2.5L uses a steel mesh belt, where the 3.5L uses a chain. The 2.5L REOFO9/10 are the ones that are mainly replaced. I have personally done 9 in the last 6 months. The 2.5 version is completely redesigned for 2013 and the warranty has been reduced back to standard powertrain 5/60 so far. The 10/120 ends with the 2012 model year.

To answer the OP's question, no the 2.5 REOF09/10 will not handle the power of a turbo for long periods of time.
