Can I just NOT have TPMS sensors?

I've been shopping around for the best deal on tires and found a place that is mainly a distributor and of course they don't mount and balance any tires, but do refer.

The problem is just that these are small-ish shops and might charge me more to "try" and swap the sensors without breaking one or more of them.

I was then lead to think of "What if I just get my new rims mounted and balanced WITHOUT the sensors if these shoddy shops might just break them?"

What do you guys think?

Sure you can, but you will just have to live with the light on your dashboard permanently being on.

...and there is no way of getting rid of it other than with having the sensors on?

just put the sensors in, in all honesty the light IS annoying till after like 4-6months you will forget its there. and its something nice to have for your convenience. at one point i had my Passenger airbag light, CEL light, TPMS sensor light, Cold Enging Temp light, and Highbeam light on all at once, it was like christmas on my dash HAHA. just put them in, and when you get the chance go to a dealer, have them reset.

Not in Canada. Canadian Versa's don't have the sensors....but we get heated mirrors.

2008 Versa SL here...

The fact that the did not have this POS system is one of the main reasons I bought it.

All the cars on the lot had the TPMS system except an awesome superblack Versa SL hatchback (mine) and one butt ugly white sedan . LOL

God I appreciate not having this junk system. Check pressure in tires every 3 weeks instead lol.

I put new rims on my car, with tires already mounted, and no TPMS in sight. My light did not come on for flat alert for a week. I hit a large pothole and the light came on steady. Ever since then it has been on. I did swap the OEM's back on for a few days for the snow, and the light went right out.

My Versa was in the garage for fifteen days while I was away. When I returned the light was on so I checked the tire pressure and all tires were ok. The light stayed on for 2 days and finally went out by itself.
