I know I've seen one drifting, but they are few and far between. The car just isn't common enough to be used as a drift mobile.

but i mean it's possible right?

get some illuminas, and some good springs/ ground control conversion

l28et

definitely a diff, probably r200 and whatnot

i just love freaking 240z's sooo much, but i'm also in to drifting =\ but i figure with the right suspension, and anywhere from 170-200 hp ... it shouldn't be too bad, right?

heres a better idea.... buy a crown vic, and drift the piss outta it

its absurd to drift something as timeless as a datsun z, there arent many clean ones out there and true enthusaists wouldnt risk ruining one by beating it to hell

Concidering that I've seen an EF Civic drifting I'd say... yea, it's definitely possible.

When the 240 is running, I might take it somewhere and drift it a bit... maybe. But that's only because it's going for bodywork right after I'd finish drifting.

Anything possible with Cash but.... Cost alot I dont think you have any problem getting the power you need to drift but I think you need a new slip differential. On top of that you need to do some suspension work basically top line shocks, springs and a **** load of tire you can go threw 4 sets in one day easy

I've drove 240Zs in the past, and there is no reason why they couldn't perform well as a drift car. As stated, the reason why drifting 240Zs are few and far between is simply because they are not a dime a dozen like 240SXs are. Or at least were, until the drift craze hit.

but in all reality, with an l28et, probably some illuminas, and a diff, it would be np?

I personally think drifting is kinda dumb and a waste to do but yes the s30 has been known to drift, ues the L28ET has lots or power potential (how fast are you willign to spend) and drifting is the opposite of racing, you want the stiffest rear springs you cna get as the idea is to brake traction, all motorsports try to keep traction so an autocross, or road race car would have a much softer rear suspension

You can drift in anything, but why someone would want to destroy a car like the s30 is beyond me.

to answer the question is YES it can drift. Although, what everyone is trying to explain to you is that most Z need restoration at this period of time. That cost serious money. Depending on the condition of your z i would assume it needs body attention. If you drift it assume you will fracture or bend the chasis due to it's metal integrity.

Ok.. I live in japan and the datsun chasis i see driving around are HIGH DOLLAR RACE MACHINES. Were talking 20,000 - 100,000. So just food for thought. If you were planning on trashing this chasis then by all means go for it. If you want to keep it i would not suggest it with out the proper chasis modifications.

Good luck to ya brother!

why is everyone getting all pissy lol. just buy a rusty one that no one else wants and drift it till it breaks in half. better then having it sit and rust to death.

i agree. another z off the road because it was ran into a wall/curb from driver error... i would cry. the cars are too beautiful/running out to risk drifting in them.

just buy a 240sx for about 1500 bucks and beat that to hell. you'll love yourself later for it.
