It's a waste to trash something that they're not making any more of, when you can just as easily trash something they still make/fewer people care about.

Yes, there is free will here, no one is there to police ridiculous things you can do with your Z.

But what I'm talking about is a separate, and yet related thing called responsibility to the hobby. They just aren't making more of these. In a similar way, I guess you could technically buy $5,000 purebred dogs and have fun shooting them, but most people would advise against that too.

Trust me, nothing makes me feel prouder than watching a Z hold its own in a drift crowd (as long as it doesn't have a ****ing V8). It brings a proud, paternal tear to my eye. But on the other hand, I'm glad that most Zs don't do that, and I wish that there were more of them being driven and enjoyed on the street, in un-riced, un-hickified (because the Z gets it from both directions) condition.

yes.... cause getting a 240sx to drift is a better solution from your logic cause they still make them........ oh wait.

You missed the "fewer people care about" part. No slight on Silvia folk, as I'm sure that will change in the future (as they get rarer, due to attrition and idiot factor). I can go a couple months without seeing an S30 on the road, whereas an S14 is multi-daily. The 240SX isn't a classic, at least not the same way a Z is, yet.

Good disarm there.

Unfortunately for anyone who wants an S30, it's more a matter of absolutes than relatives. In aggregate, there are still going to be fewer intact S30s world over, largely because rust meant something almost totally different in the 70s, even in CA. This despite any anomalous pockets of population.

Someday, the game too will be off for S14s as well, but right now they're still fresh and in stock. Circle of life.

Im not trying to be to ignorant cause i completely agree lol, but still if he is gonna get a rusting out 240z and drift it im completely down with that. No collector or smart entuisist is gonna buy a rusted out roller. No matter what you say and if you say you would your not too smart.

Point. Still if I had a rusty one I'd wait it out for ten or so years til people become stupid enough to pay for whatever random bits of it were salvagable, in an era where scrap metal for these cars is at a premium and any wreck is worth saving.

But most people probably don't think like that, and you can likely make more money investing in currencies than cars anyway :P

Eh idk flipping s14s is pretty profitable right now lmao. But for example my dad is a big mustang freak. had a 68 and reconstructed it from the frame up twice and has built engines out his ***. anyway we saw a 69 coupe yesterday and the guy wanted 3k and my dad is like that guy is ****ing insane. and the car only had rust in one wheel well although it was eaten pretty bad. My point being true restoration feinds are really anal about clean chasis. So if it has a bit of rust on it why not let a kid have some fun with it cause anyone that will truely want to buy a car like a s30 to preserve it prol wont want it. If that made since.

yes you can you need a diff (welded or 2 way ) coilovers or stiff springs and struts and you may want to make a rear sway bar you dont need to turbo it ae86 got way less hp no need for it

Actually, beleive it or not, when it comes to using the e-brake fro drifting, drum brakes are better. Some of the AE86's came with an LSD/drum brake setup that is much more popular than the LSD/disc brake setup.

i dont use the e-brake to drift. then again im not to good at drifting lol. I just throw the weight and clutch kick like a *****. massive driveline shocks thats what town i live in edit that might be more popular based soley on the fact that the drum brake ones were more common? just my idea on that.

and i can tell you with enough hp the z could do it although its narrow wheel base would mean you would have to know your stuff to keep it balanced and not crashing into anything
