I'm deciding on whether I want adjustable camber plates or to go with a set of eccentric bolts for camber adjustment. I'm currently at just over 1 degree of negative camber on the front right now. Discuss amongst yourselves. What form of camber adjustment should I get?

I am trying to keep the ride quality, and I'm concerned with replacing the rubber top bushing of my struts with a piece of metal that I'll begin to have too much road feedback. My car is a daily driver that I take to the track occasionally.

this is the order from "cheap to right" in ascending order:-camber bolts-upper mounts-LCA

obviously, you're debating the first two, and out of the two I always reccomend piloow mounts with the camber adjustment because its more structurally sound for the suspension(the bolt hole wasnt made to be used with an eccentric bolt, why force it?) and its a easier to adjust/more premanent solution, a eccentric bolt will provide less adjustment, and rotate itself loose eventually and possibly wear out, or wear into the suspension...

the pillow mount will solve the problem whiel providing less supsension flop and other benifits like more properly aligned adjustment, and ease of adjustment...and a wider range of adjustment.

obviously the botls cost like 20 dollars and the kounts run like 150...

I vote the mounts. do it right. you wont lose much ride quality if any, and should notice some good benefits.-chet

since we're on the subject, what is the best camber plate kit versus cost? I saw the techno toy tuning kit, and I'm leaning towards it.

you can get some TEIN camber plates from MVP motorsports, but I would double check with MVP to make sure they're compatible with stock style stuff....

otherwise, CUSCO stuff works with standard struts..

most mounts range from the 140-230 range, depends on brand preference and materials.-chet

also my pdf version of the FSM has adjustability in the front pictured, as if the eccentric bolts came from the factory.

ok put the eccentrics in, no oem camber adj bolts there, just normal bolts. the eccentrics were a pain to put in, btu sicne they sent me 4, havign ones' washer ruined left me with a spare one. damn those stock bolts are in tiiiight...anyway adjustability with those eccentrics is not very wide. but good enough i've noticed definite improvement over stock (out of alignment positive) camber. I think i made it all the way negative (~1.5 deg negative). feels pretty good.

yeah, i used it on stock, because for now i needed to fix my positive camber up front for better cornering/drifting attempts. seems to be ok for now, i hope they dont start slipping anytime soon.

i was wondering how you got them out to negative camber. Eccentric bolts are meant to equalize towards neutral camber.

no no, the thing is, when the bolts' round part is facing up (or down) then it's in it's neutral position. when you start twisting it towards either the left or the right, so it faces either the inside of the car(negative camber) or the outside(positive), it makes the spindle tilt either into negative camber or positive camber. the adjustment range is (assuming stock is 0 from your last alignment) from 1.5 to -1.5

i have the eccentric bolts on my setup but i think if i were to do it again i would go with the camber plates. they look to have easier adjustability and if i ever have to take off my struts then ill lose my camber setting with the bolts. although i could mark them so i kno where they were positioned. hmm but the plates also look cooler!

buying springs/shocks and then cmber plates is not worth the money, when you can get Tein coilovers WITH plates for a few (1 or 2) hundred more. The reason I even got these is because they were so cheap and I am not planning to get springs/shocks, but wait and save up for coilovers, and just needed somethign to hold me over. 25 bucks is not too bad a price.

i have an agx/s tech combo. but since my suspension is slowly getting pieced together, i wasn't able to buy a nice set of coilovers with plates on them. in the end, i might spend almost as much for a set of coilovers, but i didn't have to drop a lot of cash at once on it.

and i will be going with camber plates eventually.

i am probably going to go for pb upper mounts. i've been running an ohlins shock/rs*r spring combo for a while, and i don't plan on replacing that anytime soon with coilovers, so i feel that camber plates will be a good investment for me.

does anybody have any experience with the project mu plates? they look quite interesting; iirc, they have the ability to LOWER the car 1"

i doubt u'd need mroe lowering than RSR already provides. but i think that Project MU like most other CPs are pretty much the same, it's almost only about the color you like, tein makes golden, cusco makes blue, etc. the lowering may be an added bonus, but probably made for people running stock springs, if they need a little lowering. should work fine with any other spring/shock combo as well.

Tein has a set that is MSRP of $170. I am sure that if you call a retailer, they will sell for less than MSRP.

yea the RS*R springs dont give as much as a drop as the others but i believe they are a very stiff spring rate.

you don't want lower than 1.5" no matter what springs you have, u'll have a hard time drivign around the city and have to always think about bottoming out etc.

my whitelines were said to drop the car 1.75" i believe and i measured a drop of a little less than that (about 1.5") and i think that is a good amount to drop to reduce wheel gap a lot and not have to worry about bottoming out to much. you do have to be careful with speed bumps but under normal driving your fine.

i believe the limit of drop on a nissan suspension is closer to 2". 1.5" has been the average from most springs I've seen. Any lower than two, and you become very aquainted with the bump stops.
