For general street driving on street tires and occasional auto-x the eccentric bolts would be just fine. The is no wear problems assotiated w/ using them (i've been using them for years). A while ago I was having some understeer problems in low speed corners at the auto-x and I started playing w/ front camber. I found that on street tires there is definatelly a thing as too much camber. I found that i didn't gain a thing in the cornering and gave up a ton in braking capability (flat spotted the crap out of the fronts on the insides and handling was sketchy depending on if the tire wanted to roll over to the correct contact patch or not roll over and just slide) I ended going back to a less aggressive camber and bumping up rear tire pressure a bunch.

That said, I'm running camber plates now and was using camber plates AND eccentric bolts when i was playing around w/ camber. The ultimate in adjustability!!:-) But i would still say that for the "occasional" racer eccentric bolts would be just fine

dont want to hijack the thread, but since were on the subject and i thought of this as i read...

my d/s body is f'd up along with the rear camber... i took it in, and they said its unfixable because all the adjusting parts are rusted...im not sure which parts are exactly rusted, but if i were to get a whole new settup for the rear end, how much am i going to have to dish out. im not looking for performance or adjustability, just oem replacements, or something slightly better

Ive never seen a vehicle with adjustable plates. How does one adjust them?

its a plate thats at the top of the strut tower that the coilover or strut attaches to. the plate allows you to slide the top of the inward or outward changing the point at which the top of the coilover is positioned. when you move the top of the coilover it rotates the hub with it. so inward=more negative camber and outward= more positive camber.
