Ok so i just had my car aligned... (in the shop my tech was arguing with another tech, over which they would prefer... some super DART or a 06 vette lol)....

Anyways the camber is off (probably why i dont rub, and im not so sure i want to correct it)...

I have attached the form he gave me... Im not really sure what it all means... but the top of my wheel is tilted too far tward the inside of the car

He essentially told me this will cause no issues other than tire wear.. but just an FYI for you guys... Same issues with others?

Just got mine aligned yesterday at Firestone... 169.99 with lifetime free alignments for the life of the vehicle!

And yes, he said that to correct it back to factory specs, we need a camber kit! Mine was/is off also, and so is everyone else's that has the Eibachs, whether they know it or not!

I thought with Pro kit, you don't need camber kit.

This blows, my main reason for buying the pro-kit was because it needed no camber adjustment. (I hope I don't get to look forward to going threw a s*** load of tires)

My mechanic mentioned something about my tires still getting about 30,000 miles with the springs and camber.

He also test drove the car and said he like it. Sweet

My mechanic said the same thing and loved the way the car drove. I'm only at 80 miles after the drop so I'm waiting until 150 to get my alignment.

I talked to my local (bay area) speed shop today about dropping my A/C 3.5 with eibach springs and he also mentioned that a camber kit is needed. I did not agree with him because of what I read here on the forum, but he disagreed with me and said that he called eibach to confirm, and YES a camber kit is needed to do the job right. As for the labor...........4 hours to install the springs (1 hr each spring) I thought that was a bit high but he seemed to know about the camber kit needed, so I now trust them and will have them lower my A/C for me. He also mentioned that there will be no compression on my stock shocks/struts with the drop and he guarantees there work. Customer satisfaction!................. Yeh baby thats what I like. I also will have them install my Greddy Ti-c system as soon as more come into the country (6-8 weeks).

As far as alignment,...... no reason to wait................ eibach springs do not need time to settle/break in, once again this coming from my local speed shop.

Guys, we have discussed this countless times. Get the kit if you want to conserve the tires to the greatest extent. However, with regular rotation, there will be no issues with the camber. The rear has a negative camber stock. Obviously the engineers saw a reason to give it that camber, and the eibach kit only enhances it a little. No reason to freak and panic over a half a degree in the rear.

Does a camber kit exist for an altima coupe? and if it does would someone be able to post a link or any recommendations.

Thanks

My cambers on all 4 corners are negative and its always good to have a little bit of negative camber. More tire contact on the road. However, the most important thing on the alignment is the toe. If that is out, you'll go thru tires like crazy.

Mike... i dont know if id call them a "speed shop" if it takes 4 hours to install the springs... maybe a "scalp shop"... if they are charging you by the hour...

I think speed shop refers to, "speed" in a performance element rather than time

A lil negative camber helps in cornering as well.

Obviously thats what he meant lol... i just had to comment when they quoted him 4 hours to do the install... maybe they meant you would need to leave it there for 4 hours... but i cant see how it could take 4 hours to complete the job.

Excellent point!

A little bit of negative camber can make the car corner so much nicer. Basically when you load the car into a corner the tire flattens out and gets a wider contact patch. This helps out a lot with your grip and will solve any understeering problems you might have.

So you're saying no alignment is 'ok' or yes on the alignment &don't worry about the camber kit?

Definitely get an alignment but I wouldn't worry about the camber kit for now. If you experience excessive tire wear (which I doubt) then you'll want a camber kit.

I have called a few other places to have my eibach pro kit springs installed and they all seem to be between $400-550 includes alignment and camber kit. Everything is more expensive in the bay area, even at the gas pumps............. $3.85 gallon

longbeachcoupe, they say it takes about 1 hour for each spring to be installed............ They quoted me $500.00 to do the job........... includes labor, wheel alignment and camber kit. I already have the eibach pro kit. Looks like I will have them do the job........ next week.

correct me if Im wrong here...but isnt only the left rear out of adjustment? It looks like the other three tires are okay...

THis is of interest to me, as I have only installed the Ibach's spring on the front. SOme may remember I have wieighted the rear (180 lbs) and removed the RSB, becuase I like the handeling charachteristics of that set up much better...it looks the same as putting the springs in the rear, but I'll bet my rear camber is still okay, and it looks like my front camber should be also.

Kyle, (or anyone) do you have any suggestions as to where I can get an alignment? I've tried Firestone but they are telling me they don't have specs on 08 models and they won't do it anyways since I've changed the suspension?

I did notice that the printout on my alignment sheet said 2007 Altima... I heard that previously that a lot of companies didn't have the latest alignment info for the 2008 Altimas... but they did mine with the suspension change! And, Ican always go back and get it done for free... forever!!!! lol
