Damn, how big are the car seats today? That chic's car seat looks like it has built-in airbags or something. Hell, when mine were little I was able to have both of them, in car seats "of the time", simultaneously in the back of my '79 Celica COUPE!

At what age can kids get out of car seats now? One chic on there stated her 7yo was still in one. WTF?

Just an awesome progression in this thread. I am on a mission to test this 5,000 post baby phenomenon I will break the stereotype. LOL

Hey Joe

You can fit a whole litter in the back of an I30/35. Just buy a Quest, it's a "sporty" minivan.

They have mats for that....you put the mat on your seat and then baby seat on it....NO HOLES AT ALLill post a pic later of that mat

Joe,

Just ran into my friend who is in the same shoes like you with your better half. He told me there is an expiring date on this seats also. WTF?!

Anyways like the tires these seats have manufacturing dates. Some last longer then others. I just thought you should know about it.

He sent me the website for the Canadian government specifications with all these.

http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety...u.htm

I am not sure it helps or not.

Front-facing seats aren't that bad...its those rear-facing ones that suck up tons of room!

I'll post up pics of the seat I'm going with and the redesigned stereo

Matt,

I think the laws vary by state, but the child must be in some sort of a booster seat until they reach a certain age or certain weight.

A quick search says CA's limits are 6 yrs old and 60lbs.

Think about this. When you buy a SNELL approved racing helmet. It has a certificate with which regulations it adheres to. So right now, you can use SNELL 2000 helmets and SNELL 2005. SNELL 95 is no longer allowed.

The same applies to child seats. Do you really want antiquated safety theory protecting your child?

Steve (MTechnik), thanks for the pic and welcome to NICO! BTW, are you prior military? (name sounds familiar)
Nope, just a car nut.
