def red on a white car behind bronze wheels, very good contrast. maybe brembo red or a shade darker.

Yeah, I forget about that Dakota...... that thing was sick as hell and mean to boot! I miss it a little
kyles1988 wrote:I'm kinda likin this white idea.
Yeah, I have secretly been thinking about doing the white..... with red lettering.
kyles1988 wrote:if you do a blue though, just compensate for the shadows your wheels cast and do a shade lighter.
Leave it to a photographer to think about the details!

I think volk blue with white lettering would look nice. But it might look out of place unless the blue matches with something.

Hot pink [email protected] maybe not.

Ever thought about matching the caliper to the amber turn signal?

Then paint the letters the same red as your brake lights....or white even...

Just somethin different.

I have not decided yet. I have all winter to get this done, so I am in no rush. However, I am swamped at work during the winter, so I will need to make sure I don't put this on the back burner for too long.

I am highly considering white though.

I vote gold with brushed lettering, or white with gold lettering. You have good taste, so I'm sure you'll decide on something worthy of you car.

I say Pink..

it looks good.

this is the latest on my R33.

i just used Donnyshiro Factory Hand shaken can paint with Kanji words on it that i couldn't understand. I used the quick fix paint in a bottle with brush to paint the letters. I applied 3 coats of Donnyshiro pink paint. do to the cold metal.... the paint had issues bonding which is why you see the lil blotches. I will fix those with the same brush method, just pink lol.

I honestly think I would do any color before I would do bubblegum pink.

But I do appreciate the suggestion.

Well since you started this thread, you got me thinking and I decided to paint my 300xz calipers. I decided to go with blue and white lettering. My sr's valve cover is blue so, I think it would look good.

Def white with gold letters. You need some contrast behind those wide spokes of those Works. It'll be a bish to keep clean but it will pay off by putting a finishing touch on one helluva clean car. I think gold letters cause red, blue, black ect. just wouldn't flow as nicely, and the gold letters would have to match the Works .

I'm lovin' your car .

Yep, I wanted to, but didn't know how the allen bolts would be affected by the extra added material. I talked to the powder coat guy today and said it would be just fine....... I would simply use a slightly smaller allen wrench to tighten them. So we are on...... I will drop all the goods off tomorrow. He said roughly a week.

I won't be doing gold. It's not enough of a contrast to the white to show up effectively. My final combo will be sick I assure you, but classy at the same time.

I started to disassemble the calipers last night........ I want to get the show on the road. I will be dropping off all of the goods at the powder coating facility tomorrow. All of the bolts on both the Stoptechs and the Z32's are unpainted stainless. So I had the choice of simply cleaning the bolts up or powder coating them. For reference Brembos come painted the same color as the caliper. I wanted to spice it up a bit, so I will be powder coating the bolts a different color than the calipers for a nice contrast...... nothing horribly crazy though. I will leave the color combos a secret until I have finished pictures up....... hopefully sometime late next week.

Some before pics for reference:

Assuming you get them back in a weekish, any plans on when you're going to work on them again? Is the Mrs. still in session?

Well, she is in session until May 31st. However, she only stays down at the Capitol at most two times a week. So if there is anything I can do to the car at home then it could be on those nights. Otherwise skies the limits if she is home. I will reassemble the brakes at work anyway. I have a another little surprise/gift to myself that we will get to mess with at work.

You kind of missed the boat on voting, but thanks for the suggestion
